"builders" poems
Before you criticize me too soon, I think you should spare some seconds and answer a simple question to yourself... If Shahjahan loved Mumtaz Mahal so much, why he had a harem of wives to use at his own pleasure? While I agree that the Taj Mahal is arguably the most extraordinarily beautiful monument in the world, I don't agree upon the fact that it was built as a tomb of love. It is just a symbol of madness if you asked me. An emperor's insecure feeling to get his name registered in the history books. While it may be one of the most beautiful architectural monument, it was built by over 20,000 architects, craftsmen, masons and engineers who took over 16 years to build the magnificent building. He got this apparently high & prestigious monument of love built but everything that the Emperor did was not pleasant at all. ° The lavishly living Mughal Emperor spent all his - his subjects' money into building this monument of love instead of keeping his subjects well-fed. ° Mumtaz Mahal might have been the luckiest woman to have died and got such a marvelous building built as her mausoleum but she died giving birth to her & Shahjahan's 17th offspring and then Shahjahan who had uncountable other wives was inspired by her demise apparently to undertake what is termed as the biggest project in history build the costliest monument proclaiming his rule. ° The arrogant - falsely proud lover - Mughal emperor didn't know that what he thought to be looked at as the greatest symbol of love will be criticized by some poet in his own land nearly 375 years later. The insane Mughal Emperor got all the builders of the Taj Mahal's fingers cut-off of so that there could be no other Taj Mahal. But Aurangzeb, his & Mumtaz Mahal's son overthrew his power when Shahjahan got older and locked him up in a jail at the other end of Yamuna river where the emperor then died a sad old lovelorn bedlamite person in prison. Aurangzeb was the exact opposite of his dad, he showed religious intolerance and his habits drove the empire towards its doom after his death. But let me think this way; when I look at any picture of the Taj Mahal, what I get the first thing in mind is this: Such a CRAZY emperor who got such a beautiful monument of Egotism built!

Without consideration, without pity, without shame they have built great and high walls around me. And now I sit here and despair. I think of nothing else: this fate gnaws at my mind; for I had many things to do outside. Ah why did I not pay attention when they were building the walls. But I never heard any noise or sound of builders. Imperceptibly they shut me from the outside world.

Leader ship
Lone leatherback cruises up from the deep, pausing on the fragile reef to feast ancient eyes upon the show, a bright parade laid out below butterfly couples paired for life, graceful angels in black and white stripe brilliant clowns and their toxic lovers, a plodding gang of giant groupers puffers bob like comic balloons, humble gobies on every menu beaked parrotfish grinding the coral down, in the ears a constant sound cowfish blowing puckered kisses, sea stars catching fishy wishes white-tipped, hammerhead, tiger sharks, triggerfish mean bite worse than their bark untamed unicorns too wild to ride, dogfish snapping, biting alongside coral trout color-shifting fools, attracting ladies in dull-hued schools **** headed wrasse rumbling through, thick lips mumbling go get a room sea horses nod in labyrinth caves, razor-toothed eels lying in wait if tentacled embrace should be your fate, nudibranchs will light the way to a place of bliss, none of this can exist, without the builders coral and algae bewildered, the ways of man egotistical rising ocean temperatures, carbon emissions, and el Niño victim of abundant greed, say goodbye to the Great Barrier Reef so massive is this magical place, one can see it from outer space astronauts witness its demise, ninety-percent barren, bleached bone white.

The builders of Stonehenge Were pelvicly challenged So they erected a monument In such a way That it could be interpreted As a displacement activity. And the rest as they say Is pre-history.

Why They Built Stonehenge
☮ ☮ ☮ **Society needs more Social Justice. Humanity needs peaceworkers.** Peace and Social Justice must be promoted aggressively. There are inequities that must be addressed. Power is not equally distributed. Neither are resources or wealth. Neither are poetic gifts or vision equitably distributed. Unearned privilege is rampant. Poetry must confront this global crisis of capitalist exploitation and manipulation. Poetry must speak to the masses. Poetry must radicalize and inform consciousness to new levels of social change. Marginalized citizens must be empowered. All ****** gender-based, racial, religious, age-based, homophobic, xenophobic, and gynophobic bigots must be brought to see in a new way through our poetry. Community building and local empowerment are of the order. Our poetry must be global in scope – yet rooted and grounded in local community empowerment. Selfless acts of service to promote and increase Social Justice are needed. Lives selflessly devoted to establishing social justice are called for. Our poetic lives must be laid on the altar of the dis-enfranchised and unrepresented. We, as consciously aware poets, must advocate and speak out for those who have no voice. We, as poets, must, through stirring words of Social Justice, embody through our radical verses the burning hope of a just and sustainable future. This future must become increasingly collective as formerly marginalized consumers become empowered community-builders  –  through our poetry. As poets of the sustainable future we will empower and inform. Our poetry must collectivize, entitle and enslave. We must speak with ONE VOICE: the voice of change and social justice. Our words will rise with healing in their wings and lift whole communities from despair to radicalized self-awareness in communities filled with strident, intolerant and maniacal practitioners of PEACE & SOCIAL JUSTICE. All poets who do not lay their entire creative and lyrical selves on the altar of struggle to bring CHANGE and SOCIAL JUSTICE will be LIQUIDATED by our own EMPOWERED POETRY. The flag, a white crescent and single star on a field of crimson — kırmızı, not just 'red' — tells of Islam. The men drinking beer and rakı at pavement tables, even in Ramadan, and the short-skirted, bare-armed girls, parading with bare-faced confidence, tell of other influences; but at the appointed hour we hear the call to prayer from the marble minaret, a slim finger pointing to the sky beside shining domes reflecting the vault of heaven. At five a.m. we hear it faintly through hotel double-glazing, or at sunset, as a peaceful accompaniment to the spectacle, and we remember where we are. But especially at the midday hour, when the voice of the muezzin echoes over noisy street or market, and from another minaret and another the duet becomes a trio, a quartet of different melodies, out of tune with each other but never discordant (in these tones the word has no meaning), the faithful are reminded, however busy they may be, that their God requires something of them. Then, entering the cool calm of the mosque, entering the quiet forest of pillars, feeling through the soles of our bare feet marble polished by the tread of generations of worshippers, fine-grained wood, the rich softness of crimson carpet, we luxuriate in the textures as they combine with the formal floral patterns of the tiles, the ornate calligraphy of the inscriptions, the rich colours of the glass, and we realise that the builders of these mosques knew what they were doing, so many years ago, how peace can enter the soul through the senses.

This harbour was made by art and force. And called Kingstown and afterwards Dun Laoghaire. And holds the sea behind its barrier less than five miles from my house. Lord be with us say the makers of a nation. Lord look down say the builders of a harbour. They came and cut a shape out of ocean and left stone to close around their labour. Officers and their wives promenaded on this spot once and saw with their own eyes the opulent horizon and obedient skies which nine tenths of the law provided. And frigates with thirty-six guns, cruising the outer edges of influence, could idle and enter here and catch the tide of empire and arrogance and the Irish Sea rising and rising through a century of storms and cormorants and moonlight the whole length of this coast, while an ocean forgot an empire and the armed ships under it changed: to slime **** and cold salt and rust. City of shadows and of the gradual capitulations to the last invader this is the final one: signed in water and witnessed in granite and ugly bronze and gun-metal. And by me. I am your citizen: composed of your fictions, your compromise, I am a part of your story and its outcome. And ready to record its contradictions.

The Harbour
We, the people of this country, in your eyes are: babblers, bachelors, bafflers, baiters, barkers, beakers, beaters, brawlers, blamers, beggars, bloaters, bloopers, bombers, boozers, blunders, bruisers, bafflers, bluffers, burglars and burners. That's why you feel compelled to keep your foot on our heads keep us down, put us down, push us down subjugate us, belittle us, berate us. We, the people of this country, in our eyes are: butlers, bouncers, bakers, buyers, barbers, cake-makers, delivery-takers, cocktail-shakers, taxi drivers, cancer survivors, employers and hirers, music makers, entertainers, window washers, foster takers, plasterers, carpenters, scaffolders, sparks and builders, boxers, carers, coaches, tailors, shoe makers, designers, illustrators, multi-language facilitators, dog walkers, dog trainers, bikers and cycle couriers, doctors and nurses and all the emergency services. We are the People, the reason you are where you are now you sometimes forget that we exist as people, somehow locked in your ivory towers with gold plated showers and MP expenses and investment banker pretenses this is not theater, its real life drama, its not just a bluff its time to stand up and say enough is enough.

Another Angry Voice
All are architects of Fate, Working in these walls of Time; Some with massive deeds and great, Some with ornaments of rhyme. Nothing useless is, or low; Each thing in its place is best; And what seems but idle show Strengthens and supports the rest. For the structure that we raise, Time is with materials filled; Our to-days and yesterdays Are the blocks with which we build. Truly shape and fashion these; Leave no yawning gaps between; Think not, because no man sees, Such things will remain unseen. In the elder days of Art, Builders wrought with greatest care Each minute and unseen part; For the Gods see everywhere. Let us do out work as well, Both the unseen and the seen; Make the house, where Gods may dwell, Beautiful, entire, and clean. Else our lives are incomplete, Standing in these walls of Time, Broken stairways, where the feet Stumble as they seek to climb. Build to-day, then, strong and sure, With a firm and ample base; And ascending and secure Shall to-morrow find its place. Thus alone can we attain To those turrets, where the eye Sees the world as one vast plain, And one boundless reach of sky.

Maverick ex-cop (Green Beret /Navy Seal /SAS/Ranger) Twiddle of the fingers to crack a 64 bit hexadecimal code Shot but can still beat up bad people and run 15 people firing automatic weapons and they all miss Database that searches the planets population in 2 seconds And has photos of their children and plans of their building Regardless of the crime scene sample, always a rare element that pinpoints location Car chase where a truck can keep up with a Ducati motorbike Organisations that only employ attractive people in lead roles Ugly people are tech specialists sometimes allowed to be ‘quirky’ Even the uglies are attractive people disguised with glasses and bad hairstyles ‘I dream of genie’ gendre were they flirt but never get it on, unless it’s a hospital series Watchable, funny programs that always succumb to sloppy sentimentality High schools complete with intolerance, marginalisation, bullying, and hell on earth, The most disturbing and darkest crime sent to titillate mid evening family viewing Endless humiliation for fatties, chefs, performers, builders, restaurateurs, and troubled teens Dysfunctional law enforcement agencies that never work together under any circumstances Enough, if we need this thick coating of unreality, perhaps its time to switch off?

TV Tripe
I miss my childhood everyday This missing increases day by day I miss those days of happiness which were full of joy and naughtiness I miss my grandpa's magnificent love I miss my grandma's food serve I miss my village and my darling home Now I am sad and alone I was used to go garden daily evening where I see the day changing I play their with my friends who were perfect in that and were legends I miss stealing of mango from trees I miss those mountainy friendly trees I miss play of hide and seek we hide on guava's great peak I miss my fields and ponds I miss that sweet smell of my lands I miss the scolds of elders I miss my village builders I miss my grandpa's old shoulders I miss my village's brave soldiers I miss my cow's sweet milk I miss my cranky and playful tricks No one can return my childhood And that hunt for fruits in woods I have left my childhood very far But I need life like that with no bar I am hungry for that love of village my hunger becomes more with age In this world of stress and worries I want back my childhood glories Life is such a name That plays with everyone, a different game But in every game there is some hopeful ray I miss my childhood everyday. I miss my childhood
Where does the spark and infatuation from the beginning go? It’s crazy how quickly you can go from being excited to talk to a person to feeling like you’re forcing the conversation. The quality time you spend with each other turns into “I was busy” and the consistent communication becomes “I don’t know”.  When does “I hate to see you leave” turn into “It hurts too much to stay?” Could it be because we’re all guilty of taking things for granted? Maybe we think love is something which will appear whenever it is convenient, or maybe we don’t realize how important it is to keep a good thing going. Maybe we think happiness is something that just finds us, instead of being something we must work for. And maybe that’s why we end up doing or saying something we shouldn’t have, and regret our actions later. It’s amazing how fast things change… You go from laughing about anything to arguing about everything. You go through the motions, wondering if they’re real, if they really do care, or if they’re going to run when it turns rough. It’s so scary. You want to give more of yourself to somebody but it’s hard so these days because you just never know if you’ll get anything back. Don’t we all deserve a bit of love? Love is not something just to be taken, it’s to be given as well. You think you have it all sorted. That they will come around sooner or later. That they will realize what they are doing will only wreck the relationship beyond repair. You do little things, you stay consistent, but somehow it just doesn’t add up. Maybe the problem is that we except the love to be magical before we become magicians. Or could it be that we’re all just better breakers than builders? We’d rather have feelings we can throw away and ‘love’ that’s disposable. We grew up reading tales like Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty etc, which lead us to believe that the path of love is a bed of roses, without the thorns. Or blame it on the overdose of the too-good-to-be-true love stories we encounter in films and read in novels. Happily ever after is a myth. And Happily Married is the biggest oxymoron ever. Reality is rough. You only want what’s easy and that’s why what you get never lasts. Everybody wants to be fought for but nobody is willing to fight. Is this fair? She loves butterflies but she avoids beginnings because she hates to start over. He’s tired but he’s so used to the chase that he’s scared to stop running. Makes you wonder… Is love really hard, or are people just difficult?

Something inspires the only cow of late To make no more of a wall than an open gate, And think no more of wall-builders than fools. Her face is flecked with pomace and she drools A cider syrup. Having tasted fruit, She scorns a pasture withering to the root. She runs from tree to tree where lie and sweeten. The windfalls spiked with stubble and worm-eaten. She leaves them bitten when she has to fly. She bellows on a knoll against the sky. Her udder shrivels and the milk goes dry.

The Cow In Apple Time
The cranes flew and the city grew and what did I do? put my head in the sand, so I could no longer see the change that was happening all around me. A land fit for heroes,city tycoons and wannabe Nero's and now't left in the stew *** for me or for you lot, and how do you feel about that? More money than sense and scant recompense for the builders who toil,who make the monsters that rise and eat up the soil, despoiling the land,more heads in the sand but holding out hands for that scant recompense. Reconciling the bile in their throats with those city gent suits in their trilby's and coats and soldiering on until the earth is all gone. A legacy indeed for them who would scramble in scrub land and grow things to feed the dysfunction of family, what seeds we have sown,how defectively grown we've become and all for the buildings that greedily search out the sun, somewhere up in the heights.

Genetics
So many stones have been thrown at me, That I'm not frightened of them anymore, And the pit has become a solid tower, Tall among tall towers. I thank the builders, May care and sadness pass them by. From here I'll see the sunrise earlier, Here the sun's last ray rejoices. And into the windows of my room The northern breezes often fly. And from my hand a dove eats grains of wheat... I’m thinking of the faded checkered pattern that has been smoothed away by time on the dark cloth seats of a Nissan Pathfinder                                           driving down Ryan Road on a hot day in June. My mother, in the front seat, singing along to a Spice Girls cassette.   I’m thinking: red, plastic, crab-shaped sandbox and                                       McDonald’s Happy Meal toys.   I’m thinking: light princess pink, seafoam green, and robin’s egg blue.   I’m thinking of a framed cheetah cross stitch, hanging on the wall of what                                       used to be our bedroom at my grandparent’s house. I’m thinking: Barbie doll houses and Hot Wheels and a cul-de-sac at                                                                                      the end of the street.   The sweet smell of cigar smoke.  The ice cold splash of the garden hose.  The pop of a bubble.  The sting of soap in the eye.  Dreams by The Cranberries.  As Long as You Love Me by The Backstreet Boys.  A HelloKitty boombox slowly spitting out vapor when the deck builders hit a power line while digging.  The deer in the backyard looking for corn.  The faded wood of a playset that was never really played on. My father: sitting alone on a splintered bench by the firepit at the edge of the woods, empty beer cans at his feet, chain smoking cigarettes, and humming along to a song that is stuck—forever stuck—on the tip of my tongue. I do not know if this happened.  I cannot ask him.   (I’m not sure if I would want to ask him.)   But I can make an educated inference that that line of fiction is really nonfiction.   A memory that feels like a phantom limb.                               Sounds like the sharp crinkle of static.                                                        Covered in a gossamer, dreamlike haze.   There is a distinct otherness to this memory, to who                                      I think I was before the trauma.   We are two different people.  A yin and a yang.  A day and a night.   The hermit crab is soft beneath its hard shell. The asbestos is not apparent within the insulation.   You cannot see the lead in the paint. The mold inside the fruit.

Wind swept Wild places the grass it puts on a veritable orchestra of movement as it undulates to the power of the breeze that passes Mountain meadows splashed with a profusion of flowers they jiggle as if there tickled about something or other The crest of the hill bordered with trees sloping down the hill children are running reminiscent of Jack and Jill This utopia of nature sets aside the hurly burly the curvature of the hills still the wind hold the sun just right you it invites Cross these pasture lands the feeding ground of many cattle and sheep the pride of the farmer who keeps Inexorably bound by breed and creed for centuries this way of life flourishes among these native grasses Tender shoots these roots give of their riches the sun and rain gives them a time to reign with joy all reaps Pleasure in the walk letting fingers glide over the heads of tall grasses the silent telling of harmony filled poise Future generations will be brought to these shadowed grounds they too will by their lives express and know contentment Hourly they hold in sod that has known the breath of time as it has passed time and time again it enlivens breaks fourth Sturdy and resplendent it shows all its dependability the same respect settlers knew is found the builders of this continent Long shadows grow upon earths shoulders she knows the good and the bad but through resilience remains unconquered The distant mountain stands eternal guard, it affects rainfall, mutes the winds force guarantying a peaceful valley Perpetuity is taught in this land tomorrows unfold from days gone by with regularity they build and keep the way open Stewardship the blessed hope working in harmony with all that surrounds at days end this will be the final sum and tally The herdsman knows the time he invests it well always with broad vision does he act in this wisdom all will be victorious

Conforming Circus Clowns
About a mile out of town Past the village in the mist Sits a tiny Country Church Not found on any list It's for Catholic and Baptist It's for Protestant and Jew It's doors are always open This church is here for you The town is near two hundred The Church a few years more There are tales about this building That are part of local lore The church is small in stature But large in who it serves It's a place to go and worship It's a place to calm your nerves The pews are hard and narrow Carved by hand you see One has crumbled through the years So in all there's thirty three Seventeen pews on the left side Sixteen on the right Hand carved with love by someone And all are painted white At Easter and at Christmas The Church is full as it should be And as one of those who enter I say, it's something you should see The pews seem so much whiter When the voices sing so loud If it could be witnessed by it's builders I know they would be proud There are carvings in the church pews Left by many through out time On the second one in on the left Is my brothers name and mine The pews are worn in places They've supported many souls Who have come in here for comfort They have come to be made whole The one pew that is broken Was fixed but once more broke It was decided then to leave it By the elders, local folk The minister in charge then Stood and told those who were there "To fix what keeps on breaking" "Wastes time, we could better share" "Besides, look all around you" "The pews, there's thirty three" "To you, it should hold meaning" "Think hard, and you will see" "Remember, Christ our Saviour" "Think of his age on his last day" "Thirty three, that is the number" "Now, think on that next time you pray" "The Church pew that is broken" "Can't be fixed, so let it be" "It's as though it was intended" "To help give strength to you and me" The Church out in the Country Will stand longer than me And will witness many Christmas' From church pews ...all thirty three.
