Many people write a "bucket list" of things they want to do before they die.  Now in my 80th year, I don't have the time or the energy to do things that others might aim for, but I have during my life visited many places, seen many things, and enjoyed many experiences that I would have been sorry to miss. There have also been some events that I would have preferred not to experience, but which have enriched my life in different ways, and which I remember with a kind of sad affection.   Some of these are very personal to me, and would not be interesting to most people, but read the note if you wonder why I chose them. ****** Mother Nature As rain forests dwindle, and skyscrapers grow, we leave those who co habit with nowhere to go... Sweet indigenious song birds, all turned off one by one as we bulldoze the trees where they once raised their young... Stealing land from these creatures in each and every direction as we drive them all closer to their own mass extinction... there'll be uproar of course when the last one is gone, but this course of destruction seems to just carry on... In Asia the Tiger's now on it's last legs, hunted down for it's fur and it's teeth ground to dregs, The Bali and Caspian are both sadly gone, a mere five thousand Bengals till they too follow on... Just five hundred Sumatrans, a last thirty Chinese, then this beautiful Feline will just cease to be... There'll be uproar of course when the last one is gone, but our blood thirsty onslaught will just carry on Amur Leopards in Russia, Jaguars in Brazil, being wiped from the Earth as we **** and we **** Silvery Gibbons in Java, Hynobius in Japan, on and on goes the culling of one and all except Man... Polluting the rivers, over fishing the seas, as we spread and infest, like a fatal disease, yeah there's uproar of course at this ill being done, dusty crocodile tears as we still carry on... For an epitaph we'll have as our only distinction, that we were the cause of Earths sixth mass extinction, not a meteor smashing from high outer space, just a cancerous growth called the inHuman race... That we ravaged the planet and drank it's well dry, how we ripped out the goodness and left it to die, how there'd been a huge uproar as they fell one by one, how we ***** Mother Nature... how we just carried on... ©HaroldRizla

People, they just ain't all golden, not at all. Not even silver, magnesium or copper. Maybe zinc, because it tastes like ink and it does your body good, but you never get enough, even though you know you should. But had I the means, and the ends were understood, would I be zinc? Would I carry the common good? Would I feign precious metal? Or am I nothing but wood? I met today aluminum, he said, "I'm bad luck." "I know it," I said, "You're out of your element." "My melting point is 660.2°C!" I told him my name was Kristian Huselius, but that turned into a testament. "You're just lucky you aren't a duck," he said. "Maybe, but I find I've got too much will." "You can't spread will on bread, my friend," he said, much to my Brazil, "but lucky for you they make contraceptives in pills." I didn't want children anyway, but when Boron arrived, I was feeling less than sublime. Boron said, "My name rhymes with 'moron'!" "No kidding, Boron," I replied. "I can come in both the dark crystal and brown powder variety!" "That may or may not be true," said Aluminum, "but at least I benefit society." Oh, yeah, he said it, he went there. "I value correctness and propriety!" Boron shrieked. "And you can be flimsy, squishy, and weak!" I wanted no part in this, so I meandered. Not too long after, I met Helium. I told him my name was Carlton Deandre. "I don't believe you, mealworm," he bombasted. "You're gaseous," I said, "I wouldn't put it past ya."

I find as I get older I have to censor what I say I can't say that a happy man Seems very, very, gay I never got the memo When certain words were made taboo I never got that message I' missed that one , did you? My Nan would send my brother To the shops to get her **** I know we aren't allowed to say this I've been told by P.C nags I remember the old story Of Black Peter and St. Nick Now you can't say either one or you'd be branded quite the ***** There, I used another one ***** somehow made the list Has anyone seen the memo It's the one note that I missed You must call someone Richard You cannot call him **** **** political correctness Just brought me back to ***** If you sit and watch the telly you can't put your feet up on a **** that gets us back to gay again The PC folks would hit the roof Don't start me on Brazil nuts Remember what we all called those ? If I put that down in writing I'd be PC'd in the nose Men and Women are all persons This PC stuff just makes me sick But, just look at them both naked There, I've worked back round to ***** It takes the fun out of saying swear words You have to censor all the time There might be a PC zealot waiting for a language crime So, in closing let me tell you And I will do it with some class They can take their PC memo And shove it up their....buttocks (I think is the term used nowadays)!

Scrapers will no longer scrape. Fighters soon to lose the short fight. Pilots are forced to surrender control. Snakes on a plane will bank into a roll, a scene that really no longer is scenic. Leaders still read while getting a scare. Huge landmarks that I swear were once there, bridges in shortage are counting the tolls. Dust that eventually will never be settled, liquid support that used to be metal, big bad crude that never was good— things impossible suddenly could. Answers quickly try to be drummed. Future conflicts guaranteed to be won, particles blocking our UV death sun, days become decades and turkey is done. Brave individuals are no longer bold. Families’ histories are quite often told, a baby’s bottle empty with no one to hold. Government figures tilted but somehow sold parades in protest with a circus in town. A tiger got out, but why can’t he growl? Seems that the cat’s got somebody’s tongue. Another channel covers son after son, numbers mounting, but not the right ones. Cabbies still nose their thumb after thumb, training centers destroyed one after one. We should’ve just played “Drop the **** bomb!” Fear is good, and of course good is feared; it’s the only thing that drives us way over here. Just like the Bible, it’s mostly made up. The supersonic jet has just hit a rut. The dirtiest of bombs versus our Smith and Wesson. “Come on gang, why would you even question?” Like death and taxes—there’s none that’s more sure, but then there’s the free upcoming history lesson. “Ain’t gonna do it” acting just like his pop. This rancher really means it when tossing the slop. “Still can’t find him—he’s with boys in Brazil.” What’ve they done lately to lighten the till? It’s time for the Allies to storm up this hill.

From afar I admire you your beauty and your grace the way you push hair behidn your ear that has fallen to your face your brillance..you're o so intelligent the way you speak in class so bold and without fear the sparkle for learning in your eyes that look so pure and clear All of these things, only perceived by me from afar I wish to know yout thoughts likes, dislikes, and hobbies your opinion on politics Do you about the trees? What is your faith? Do you have pets? Your favorite book, movie, food. What is it that you are passionate about? My dear Brazil I want to talk to you To obtain all the answer to every question I wish to ask you This morning in the rain you were only a few feet away all alone were you But my feet, they would not move So I did not go to you Instead I watched my Beautiful Brazil place her earphones in her ear We could have talked and laughed But we didn't cause I am ruled by fear Alas, My Beautiful Brazil I am not your average admirer No, not at all But until I gather up the courage The strength to loose my fear I'll admire you from afar My Beautiful Brazil

From Afar
My fingertips will never let me forget the scent of stale cigarettes. I was a fool in London. All the friends I made had better accents than me. I dreamed of Bulgaria and Brazil. I walked through mud. I waited for French tides. I trudged in heavy water waders. My hands built a house with stones older than the country on my passport. The etching of cement on my boots still reminds me what we carried there. We drove along tired volcanoes and craggy cliffs in the dark. I never learned how to drive manual. We flew further south. I dried out in the sun. The glands of Spanish streets pulsated citrus mist into the air, my lungs. I never did remember the difference between limon and lime. We stayed in a haunted castel but missed Halloween. The upper peninsula, where Napoleon dreamed of a better dinner. We moved to Shangri-La. Even in Eden, people still snore. But there were cakes laced with flowers. And I was over the moon. Then, a dreamscape. The closest to the Arctic I’ve ever been. We ate deer for dinner. I baked Danish pies. I slept supine in a smoke-filled yurt. It was all peace. It was all over.

I Happened Here (Europe 2014)
From a fifth storey bachelor’s window pondering shadows in the car park below, Johnny opens another can. I stuff another pipe. We talk about our trip to Brazil and how great it would’ve been had we gone; Johnny turns up the radio. I take the first drag. Old girlfriends swing by in our conversation, most of them giving us the finger, mind you; Johnny dabs at his tears. I pass him the pipe. Dusk-scalpels are slicing through the curtains now, they scrape over coffee table dust, through Irish coffee stains, cut open Johnny’s frown: The neighbours are at it again, arguing; he accuses her of seeing someone else, she tells him *correct, it’s your ****** sister.* Johnny taps out the pipe in the ashtray, says he has to do someone a favour; throws on his jacket, says take it easy. Johnny’s shadow tiptoes into evening, a car alarm screams and a gunshot cries. I convince myself this is Brazil.

Byron and I play The All Topics Open. Eighteen holes   Invariably draws nostalgic. Byron mentioned he went to the WWF in Detroit. I sliced into a childhood memory Of midgets at Cobo Hall: Cobo Hall, Saturday Night. Be there! Byron started pitching old wrestlers and holds: Leaping Larry Shane, great with the Anaconda Vice; Killer Kowalski vs. Bobo Brazil, pinned by the Crucifix and Abdominal Stretch; **** the Bruiser* tagging with The Sheik To defeat Gorgeous George and Crybaby McCarthy. Byron went on in detail, with tabernacle authority: “It was a Bear Hug that quickly swung in to a Quarter, then Half, then Full Nelson; Crybaby bounced off a knee, Was driven to the mat and pinned By a Front Sleeper.” (Jimmy's newborn picture faded in, and the pose he naturally struck baby arms cocked like a sideshow muscle man   Daddy quipped: **** the Bruiser*. I was Leaping Larry Shane. Daddy quipped: Larry the Stooge. I didn't see that move) Byron was intense. I could hear, but I was zoning. Crybaby and Front Sleeper dazed me. How time Venns. I was pinned today. I recognized the feeling. Tagged, then pinned by The inescapable Baby Nelson. You know the hold. On your back. Baby on chest, face down. Pinned.

A Moth the hue of this
If I were from Africa or Brazil or one of those places, where I slept on a mat in a little room, America would be weird to me. Because of like food commercials. McDonald's.  Or Tempur Pedics! Where it's all about comfort and they're worried about the arc in their bed, and I mean, I'm sleeping on a mat. I think about myself too much and I don't think about other people as much as I would want to. I want to think about how others are feeling when I talk to them, you know? I've tried to drop all stereotypes because really everyone has an individual category. And I think everyone has at least a small amount of mercy. Even if they don't show or choose it. And I love Mom.   So much

You can be cool with your leather jacket, You can be hot with your nice lingerie, You can be cold with your colorful words, You can be warm with your kind smiles, And you can be just right, With a bit of air conditioning at night.

It was a throwback party Of the Bossa Nova Staying up late until The dance was over. The Latin beat pounding, The music was everything It was so happy sounding. Bossa Nova was king. It is the cousin to samba And in Brazil it is the way To party with your amigos Partying the night away. Dancing like the music Lives inside your soul. Much livelier than cha cha Twice as hot as rock and roll. It was a throwback party Of the Bossa Nova Staying up late until The dance was over. Time to wear **** clothing Girls in dresses up so high Men in calças they can dance in Oba! How the hours fly. Music, sometimes words And a strong and ***** beat Drive away the daily worries And put the rhythm in the feet. It was a throwback party Of the Bossa Nova Staying up late until The dance was over. The Latin beat pounding, The music was everything It was so happy sounding. Bossa Nova was king.
