"bittersweets" poems
What an odd ingredient sadness is. It salts a tear, bittersweets a kiss, Hungers us for the things we miss, Ever abundant, such a convenient thing, I can find it in everything. A death, a birth, I cry for both, Gild a sorrow, a wistful hope, Ripe melancholy I savour most, Yet a pinch too much is a lethal dose. I was often told it shouldn’t be, But the clown that frowns was the perfect me, Thin taunt and cackle, ghosts everywhere, Sometimes I hide, but it’s still right there. Perhaps I’ll woo this lifelong friend, Embrace this thing I cannot mend. Odd comfort in a peculiar way, To know this thing is here to stay.

Odd
I am walking. Pushed slightly, by the northeast. My companion yellow in color, fondles the air with his muzzle. Our strides take us forward. Galloping cracked pavement. Exploring familiar arch ways, of hemlock and bittersweets. Our view is panoramic. With flights honking in the distance, as they return to the waking land. We huddle at the top. Where we watch the day, tuck away into eves pocket. This light is special. It is a sensation of nothing, and everything. It fills you and the land, with just enough. Then swiftly dims away. Leaving softly. Is truly a perfect, ending.

Tranquility
False truths True lies and bittersweets These you offer my only, my complete They're shoved as stones down my throat I swallow them whole as I do it all for you as they keep coming i Just sit submissively silently as you plough my skin and sow more corruption More pain more lies

i
Swing sets and sunsets both leave a bittersweet taste in my mouth yet I still go running back to them those rusty chains that hold up my world and the pastel hews that surround a glass memory both could come crashing down at any moment but here I am again running with a hope-filled heart That one day I will be able to feel like I did on that swing with the yellow fading into orange fading into pink clouds fading into two blue eyes fading into my soul I will continue to run until that swing set falls and the sunset fades away into the empty darkness of an endless night
