The Story
by Kamal Nasser
translation by Michael R. Burch
I will tell you a story ...
a story that lived in the dreams of my people,
a story that comes from the world of tents.
It is a story inspired by hunger and embellished by dark nights of terror.
It is the story of my country, a handful of refugees.
Every twenty of them have a pound of flour between them
and a few promises of relief ... gifts and parcels.
It is the story of the suffering ones
who stood waiting in line ten years,
in hunger,
in tears and agony,
in hardship and yearning.
It is a story of a people who were misled,
who were thrown into the mazes of the years.
And yet they stood defiant,
disrobed yet united
as they trudged from the light to their tents:
the revolution of return
into the world of darkness.
Kamal Nasser was a much-admired Palestinian poet and Palestinian Christian, who due to his renowned integrity was known as "The Conscience." He was a member of Jordan's parliament in 1956. He was murdered in 1973 by an Israeli death squad whose most notorious member was future Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak. Barak (born Ehud Brog) later ruled as Israel’s tenth Prime Minister from 1999 to 2001. His adopted Hebrew name Barak means "lightning." As a younger man, Brog/Barak was a member of a secret assassination unit that liquidated Palestinians in Lebanon and the occupied territories. In the 1973 covert mission Operation Spring of Youth in Beirut, which was part of the larger Operation Wrath of God, he disguised himself as a woman in order to assassinate Palestinians. The raid resulted in the deaths of two women, one of them an elderly Italian. Two Lebanese policemen were also killed, along with the poet Kamal Nasser.
Nasser was the PLO's most prominent Christian and he enjoyed "great appeal" in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq "both as a distinguished poet and likeable personality." He was the “conscience of the Palestinian revolution,” according to Nazih Abul-Nidal, who worked with him on the magazine Filastin al-Thawra. Nasser “had the most democratic outlook of all Palestinian leaders at the time,” he recalls. He respected opposing views, admired the commitment of young people, and was a major recruitment asset for the Palestinian revolution. “That is why he was put high on the hit-list.” The previous year, the Israelis had murdered another renowned Palestinian writer and activist in Beirut, Ghassan Kanafani, by booby-trapping his car. Nasser’s successor, Majed Abu Sharar, was also assassinated by Israelis, in Rome in 1981 while attending a conference in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

It Is
Until the world Releases
It's

Equality

It most definitely won't
come
without
a Fight.
Every

Comes
With
a consequence. It may seem hard
However
It's worth It
Barack Obama
Ridiculed
So I can

Rosa Parks Imprisoned
So I can sit

Martin Luther

So I can befriend
anyone I choose
Malcolm X Murdered
So I can be accepted
Freedom Riders
Arrested So I can eat
wherever I choose
Black Panthers
Abused So I can be
treated fairly
These fighters died, On the front line, On the battle field
So I wouldn't have
To. And yet, Where am I
Fighting, On the front line
Of the battle field
So what ever young
aspiring African American
won't be deprived
of their education
Of their History
Of their right to vote;
For standing up

My friend took a picture of the President.
She probably has assassinated the President,
if cameras were guns.
There are a lot of people taking selfies.
There are probably a lot of people who died of suicide,
if cameras were guns.
There are a lot of people who take pictures at their most joyous moments.
There are probably a lot of people who died at their most joyous moments,
if cameras were guns.
There are a lot of soldiers, innocent people, who died, are dying, and will die, at war.
There are probably a lot of soldiers, innocent people, still alive, living, will live,
if guns were cameras.

I gause now it is clearly visible
Money makes the world go round…
Majority would sell their soul for the love of money
The money that would only last for their generation
Being creative is not a sin…
Copy and paste can cause damages that would take several decades to fix
Engineering was the for the reason
Though poor engineering design can cause some damages that can be redesigned and modified
You let it go and you will suffer
You intervene you are wrong you will be assassinated
You spread the word and get ignored…
Colonisation still exist Indirectly…
Now it’s even worse
Colonised by private individuals because he can afforded
They land were they can jus like a cat
They get to be protected
People get to be question and uncertainty answer are the…
Capital city road are in a mess
Foreign country benefits
The community suffer
Fuel price goes up at the same rate as traffic congestion
Closing all the freedom of travelling to work
Depression gets agrivated
Financial strain becomes a norm
Fools are enjoying the fruits
The greedy are on holiday
The investors are making more deals
The official know the bribery language better
The nation is falling down
The grow rate is stand still
More and more labour strikes takes place
The economy gets dragged on mud
Consciousness people are disappointed
Anger is boiling
Crime is going to increase
Drug use is a norm
Opportunist are flying like scavengers
Poor government is a shame
It also affect those who are not political

Always it does,
But I can't shiver,
Coldest in the river,
Deathly river of tears,
Excruciating is the pain,
Filthy salty water it flows,
Grandiose in society kills me,
Hefty personal problems prey,
I can't swallow so I don't eat any,
****** of ego I turn into since long,
Killed me multiple times in a go daily,
Lovelorn I die each moment I try to cry,
Mouthful of unfriendly words help me die,
Name of mine means incomparable literally,
Ostensible concept of love entices me so much,
Put me in a jail and stuff me behind the bars now,
Quailing me is the loneliness that has been forever,
Ruling out few occasions of company I stay so aloof,
Sparing some days of happiness most are depressing,
Toying with my own heart I feel my heart is hydrogen,
Unattractive it is not & it could not stay segregated ever,
Volumes of my voice have died out & so has my hearing,
Wailing deep in my heart I let this sorrow seep in to sink,
Xenophobic I ain't but of course I dislike enemies of love,
Yucky thoughts of people assassinated my love last night,
Zeroed in on the catalyst -strange enough- she herself is it.

Welcome To Egypt
You want to know what a military dictator ship is?
Checkpoints at every crossing,
police disrespecting the citizens,
guns gripped tightly in the hands of teenagers,
bleached white suits with fake brass stars.
Welcome to Egypt.
You want to know what becomes of fallen empires?
Dusty streets of broken dreams and failed endeavors,
uptight men in loose jellabiyas hawking Chinese made junk,
descendants of kings catering to the whims of ignorant tourist,
and a once pristine river now so ***** it’s dangerous to swim in.
Welcome to Egypt.
You want to know what irony is?
Here denial is a double entendre,
it’s a river and a state of mind,
where the people can’t see they are biting,
the very hand that feeds them.
Welcome to Egypt.
You want to know what it’s really like here?
Well I was just harassed today,
accused by the police of trying to pray,
because in Egypt it is illegal to pray or even meditate,
I had to threaten to call the US Embassy before I was allowed to go on my way.
Welcome to Egypt.
You want to know what the real atrocity is?
The States gives this country over a billion dollars a year,
but the people that really need the money don’t see a single pound,
the money is used to further oppress the people,
and anyone that tries to stand up for their rights is beaten down.
Welcome to Egypt.
You want to know what happened to democracy?
The Muslim Brotherhood won the election,
then the military staged a coup,
kicked out the democratically elected government,
and assassinated anyone that dared to speak the truth.
Welcome to Egypt.
You want to know what the real Egypt is about?
Come witness the horror for yourself,
mothers dying in doorways children eternally crying,
horses beaten to death in 106˚ heat,
then left for dead no burial for the dying.
Welcome to Egypt.
You want to know what equality is here?
What equality woman have to cover everything up,
wearing all black in a torturing heat,
and if I man tries to hold a woman’s hand,
then they both get rounded up by the Moral Police.
Welcome to Egypt.
You want to know how bad it really is?
People die every day on boats trying to escape,
desperately attempting to flee this god forsaken country,
what a travesty and shame it all is,
how poor this country’s become that was once so wealthy.
Welcome to Egypt.
You want to know the truth?
The oppression is so bad in Egypt,
that anyone that says anything about that,
can disappear courtesy of the secret police,
seriously it happened to my dear friends dad.
Welcome to Egypt.
You want to know what?
Luckily I am not Egyptian,
so I can escape this country that’s become a prison,
leaving in a few hours and to anyone that’s considering a visit,
I’m leaving behind this welcome warning here that I’ve written.
Welcome to Egypt.

Or few actions of graciousness,
Followed by the ****** of love,
Deem you as a person thankless.
Yes she assassinated my feeling,
A dove of love just got sadness.

From where they stood
She was a juvenile who needed detention
From where I stand,
I see a lost child seeking attention
From what they heard,
Her words were harsh and threatening
From what I hear,
She didn’t mean for her words to harm, it was a clear case of misunderstanding
From where they looked,
They saw a girl who was overweight and wasn’t easy on the eye
From where I look,
I see beyond her flaws, a loving lady whose deepest feelings have been anesthetized with lies
They said to her,
You are a waste of space, you voice is too husky and you lack technique
I wish I could say to her,
No one else can give the world what you have to offer, your voice is different and your style is unique
Now she feels she doesn’t have anything to live for,
They had assassinated her mentally and she was going to help them physically
She had carefully planned how she would execute her suicide
She was headed for doom ‘cause her fate she let them decide
Helplessly I watch from outside.
Locked out and powerless to put a stop to this
I watched her put the rope around her neck as I screamed and implored her not to.
If only she could hear me, she might have had a chance to see through my eyes that life was hers to live and enjoy, that she had every right to be happy, that she could dare to be different and it was okay for her to dream big dreams even if they never materialized

WHO WILL SAVE ‘HUMANITY’ FROM ITSELF?
Ayad Gharbawi
Come down, and celebrate with us all
The beginning of a senseless
******
Where children sat awaiting
Trying to
Understand
The necessity
That you humans found in yourselves
Was so necessary to enact
Against the innocently impaled victim
I guess, that no one
Can ever
Accept truths
That for me and for you
Were so different
And yes, the medieval priest
Did laugh gutturally
In his drunken paradise
Yes, that man you loved
Was very sickening
In his punishing self-imposed bleeding dictums
And he can no longer talk
Through his burning tongue
That has been mercifully stabbed
Just far too
Many times..
Eternal laughter
That tries to memorize the renaissance poetry
Is a silly game
That gets you somewhere
Endless rows of frowning fools
I tell you
What did you learn from
All those poetry you did memorize?
I tell you
We must all decide
To stand
Somewhere of relevance and depths
Here in our personal hour
That God
Has dictated for us
Sing, then, the songs of deathness
Wherein the lonely dance
Hundreds and acres more
Of corpses have been recently
Unearthed
Rotting statues
And you can no more bear it
I know
Just as the world
Drowns her dulled eyes
Flying fast and far
Away from your memories
And now all the clowns disguised as priests
Have told me to die
So soon
I guess, they want me to say
“Goodnight”
But I will try to breathe
One more breath
One more escape
From this imprisonment
You classified as ‘life’
You see, I wasn’t really sure
If they weren’t in truth
Priests disguised as clowns
Come tonight and throw your
Second-hand flowers
In that grave for
The princess that has been assassinated tonight
Murdered deeply
In this Paris night
And tomorrow we’ll all laugh idiotically
In astonishment, once again
And the bewildered children will, once more, sit not understanding
The murderous nature of you human beings
And yes, I myself, once more
Do not understand what is impelling you all
To **** ****** and butcher again and again
Come ye saviours!
Save us, ye saviours!
The crucified darlings
Tearful you stand
I pray for you to rise up and do revenge
Against these sadistic monstrosities
In my increasingly disorientating brain
Christ!
I did try so hard to reach out to you
For you to save us
And my doubts are brimming now
As you wither ever more
Decomposing on that wooden cross

It was the early 60’s where rock and roll was
Taking over the land, and ELVIS was on tour with his band.
Where rock and roll was stories being told
And the teen life was starting to unfold.
We had race riots in the southern states
And black rights were up for debate.
An era of KENNEDY and KING where peaceful
Solutions they would try to bring.
Both assassinated at a young age
Because they tried to bring some change.
An Era where gas was cheap and wages low
And it cost fifty cents to see a show.
A time of the CUBAN missile crisis and VIETNAM
And protesters were taking a stand.
Then this country was taken by storm
And draft dodging became the norm.
Although some of the 60’s was a living hell
It gave me fond memories as well.
Drive in theatres – not many to be found
But one or two are still around.
We’d be able to back in to the drive in theatre
With a little luck- in our 53 pickup truck.
The speakers attached to the window of the door
The volume turned down very low
And the windows were rolled up so no one would know
Or- we would lie in the back of the truck
With a blanket or two
Depending on what we wanted to do.
This was the 60’s that I recall where most
Everyone had a ball.

I was so proud
Following Cupid
The greatest Cherub
Gifting all of mankind
With the power of love
Aiming the arrows
Dipped in that emotion
Where two fall together
Giving their precious hearts
To be with one another
We never leave anyone out
Be it man loving woman
Man in love with man
Woman falling for woman
Need be, even man and sheep
But I tried to stop war once
Shooting arrows at Presidents
Hoping two men of power
Could bring the love of peace
To a world deeply in need
They had to assassinate them
Put two more warmongers in charge
So once again I tried
Once more they were assassinated
So I hung up my bow and arrow
You see, never blame the Presidents
Because they are only puppets
On strings, led by power mad Generals
Using war to make a profit
But also preventing true love

Today,
Hurricane Joaquin
hammered the central bahamas
with torrents
that flooded foreclosed homes.
The forecasters warned us of this.
Same day,
ten kids get
assassinated by another one
bringing torment
to Oregon, no order found.
The forecasters warned us of this.
On that day,
every monster
forged a face as we all grieved,
as is our nature,
absorbing blows by no one's order.
The forecasters warmed up to this.

I was driving to work,
Listening to the morning news.
Not much happening, that Monday.
September 10th, 2001.
But then it was reported
That over in Afghanistan
A man had been assassinated.
Ahmad Shah Massoud
A resistance leader
Fighting the Taliban.
I didn't know who he was.
I didn't know why he'd been killed.
I didn't know what it meant.
But
Around the world
Some people
Important people
Were getting very worried indeed.
And then
The following day
Nineteen men
Took their seats.

Friends, you may recall the famous song by ‘Bonny M’ during late1970s, about the infamous RASPUTIN, advisor of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas-II, and lover of the Russian Queen, who was assassinated on 30th December, 1916: ‘’Ra, Ra Rasputin/Lover of the Russian Queen… Russia’s greatest love machine/ It was a shame how he carried on!..’’ Now once again he is reborn as VLADIMIR PUTIN, driving the World to the brink of a Third World War, and is likely to meet a similar fate, unless his cancer overtakes! This is a parody of that lyric I recently composed. – Raj Nandy, 07 May, 2022, New Delhi.
+RUSSIAN RASPUTIN REBORN AS
VLADIMIR PUTIN+
Ra, Ra, Vladimir Putin, with all his
land-grabbing war machines,
With ravenous hunger to swallow
neighboring Countries,
It is really shameful how he carries
on!
Oblivious to human suffering and
pain,
He has brought the World on the
brink of another World War once
again!
Putin became the Russian President
since 2012 as we get to see,
Became a virtual dictator of his country!
Divorced in Two Thousand and Fourteen,
Lives as a frustrated bachelor in Russia
ever since.
People look at him with terror and
dismay as he is full of aggression and
fire!
But to his henchmen and young Russian
maids he is such a lovely dear!
Ra, Ra, Vladimir Putin with his nuclear
bombs and war machines,
It is utterly shameful how he carries on!
He changed his personal guards many a
time afraid of assassination!
Sacrificed his senior generals and
countless soldiers in his ceaseless war
of aggression,
To glorify his personal ambition!
Now to save Ukraine and the World,
May the Devil soon come to claim its
very own. {See photo)
Ra, Ra, Vladimir Putin, with his many war
machines,
It is utterly shameful how he carries on!
Oh! Those Ruthless Russians!

tonight there's a fire in texas
& it's screaming out for the all the bodies it's lost there
in some grand american war
in someone else's glorious battle
the backyard tree was too high for you to climb
& so you took a jaunt to the brooklyn bridge and jumped
to see what it was like to fly
& tonight there's a fire in her chest that bleeds
for her father's bones to be buried next to hers
even though for years he didn't know her name
or what her laugh sounded like
i guess he forgot to check the post
& tonight there's a broadcast on the radio
the presidents been assassinated
& somehow that's your fault
for being to open about your love for your best friend, tom
who also happens to be a boy
& tomorrow there'll be an earthquake in memphis
& it'll be because there's too much *** on tv
god must be flapping his wings hard enough to shake
our great and grand scheme of things
& yesterday a little girl lay awake in her bed
counting her ribcage to make sure she can see every bone
she's praying she won't lose track of them under the meat
& tonight i will drink a tall glass of wine
so i can feel something
other than all the pain we've created for each other

I'm that boy who she wants as her toy,
But alas, I am defective as I'm a man now & not a boy,
So the kid got bored of trying to mould me.
She got bored of listening to wise advice,
Perhaps I was wrong on my part too in the end,
So no use ensuing the blame-game now.
I just accept it now,
I was born defective,
Accident just worsened me.
But if you sit calmly and think of it,
All the injury to my brain can heal,
Not the injury to my heart under a veil.
Broken, assaulted & assassinated,
I am time & again due to my errors,
I don't blame anyone for defects I made.

Joe and Rose’s Children
Joseph’s plane was shot down near England during WWII
John was assassinated in 1963 of November Twenty-Two
Rose Marie Mary had a lobotomy because she was acting aggressively
Kathleen, wed Wm J Robt Cavendish and she later died unexpectedly
Eunice married a great man, Lieutenant Robert S. Shriver
Patricia wed actor Peter Lawford, their marriage wasn't forever
Robert wed Ethel Skakel, he was another that was assassinated
Jacqueline Bovier felt sure that the Kennedy’s might be hated
Married to Stephen Edward Smith
Jean was wed to him until his death
Edward (Ted) late one night drove off a bridge at Chappaquiddick
Reporting the next day about Mary Jo Kopechne was quite horrific
Ted was married twice, first to Virginia Joan Bennett 1958–1982
And then next until his death Victoria Anne "Vicki" Reggie too

The words I spoke
Painted soft hues in semicircles
That formed veins in vain
All the life the colors formed caused was pain
And disdain for this thing called breath
I would gladly welcome death
In the form of the devil kissing necks
Sharpening a dagger in geometric patterns
Slicing through my brain matter with a splayed tongue
Implanting THC in my frontal lobe with infinite precision showing me visions of misread Scriptures read by passive preachers and pastors not knowing the meanings of verses read backwards that sound like incantations for Satan
Drop.
Drip into my glass
Cerulean liquid so vivid it defies description
Even with these prescription lenses I can't tell the difference between what's okay to write but not say so today
I think
I'll take an AK to Pre K to educate the young with Guns
JFK would smile
Knowing I'm the last gunslinger and expander of minds destined to be assassinated for saying it before my time

"You control our world. You’ve poisoned the air we breathe, contaminated the water we drink, and copyrighted the food we eat. We fight in your wars, die for your causes, and sacrifice our freedoms to protect you. You’ve liquidated our savings, destroyed our middle class, and used our tax dollars to bailout your unending greed. We are slaves to your corporations, zombies to your airwaves, servants to your decadence. You’ve stolen our elections, assassinated our leaders, and abolished our basic rights as human beings. You own our property, shipped away our jobs, and shredded our unions. You’ve profited off of disaster, destabilized our currencies, and raised our cost of living. You’ve monopolized our freedom, stripped away our education, and have almost extinguished our flame. We are hit… we are bleeding… but we ain’t got time to bleed. We will bring the giants to their knees and you will witness our revolution!" ~ Jesse Ventura

But he could.
It's a free country,
Inside.
And he'd say she was an over-rated actor, anyway.
Rudolph could be on his nice list.
I won't mention by name
The ***** who assassinated Lennon,
And neither should anyone else,
Including Himself,
But it could be his first State Secret.
Of all the possible pardons possible,
Hanssen deserves an immediate E.O.
Whatever he espionaged to the Russians
Was only what they overlooked as spam;
A communist cookie.
I don't even think an E.O could posthumously pardon
Ford for pardoning Nixon.
There's no excuse for that.
He'll never pardon incarcerated terrorists,
They're safer behind bars.
Us too.
*Pardon me, please,
But you're stepping on my Peers.*
