Will you not compel me, to not be me?
If while being veracious to me,

If all my teeth were broken and chipped
If acne covered every inch of my skin
And if my hair was always oily to the touch?
Will you still love me if I am no longer young?
When all my teeth have been replaced
When my skin is softly wrinkled like a well read book cover
And when my beautiful red hair is turned white with age?
Will you still love me if I am truly me?
All my insecurities and flaws I try to hide
All the fears and doubts within my heart
And all the dreams and ambitions I hold so dear?

What do I have to do to get you to notice me?
Change my hair, the way I walk?
My clothes, the way I talk?
We've known each other for some time now,
Yet I'm still invisible to you.
My feelings run deep and how
I wish you only knew.
I see your face every time I close my eyes.
To me, you just seem so different from the other girls
To you, I'm just a friend,
Nothing more, nothing less.
I settle for friendship in the end
Even though it hurts like hell
Because I don't want to make a mess.

But in pages of my diaries
In bouts of my anxieties
In sleepless nights
In hopeless dreams
In random musings
In too good to be true fantasies
I am trying really hard to forget you
To move on as they would like to call it out
But it is not making me happy
I don’t want to lose these small snippets I have of you
But what should I do
You won't come back
And I won't let those go
Maybe time will answer my question
As it always does

You say that we're fine..
But..
Will you still love me the same?
Will you still wrap your arms around me and hold me close?
Will you still help me when I'm a mess?
Will you still make me feel like I'm the only person you need?
Will you love me as much as I love you?
Because I would love it if you did.
Even if there was nothing more behind the action than a friendly gesture,
I would love it if you graced your lips upon my cheek again.
I would love it if you cuddled me in the public mall, where anyone could see, once more.
I would love it if we stayed the same, even though we're different.
