#suburb
Here is my home, swell, It is where I do dwell, I fit into this 'burb real well, In summer, hot as hell, I sit here with my coffee, To gaze at society, You do appear strange to me, Want to know what I think about thee? My home is here, all is well, I fit into my little town real swell!

HOME HERE...
We are 9 miles away from D.C., the eye of the storm on the twentieth. The suburbia love we had, storm- before- the -calm  kind of meeting we had on this chaotic day. 9 miles away is the city we love It is a refuge for our boredom and our doomed relationship On the metro ride, on the E street and somewhere near Farragut West We watched small budget movies, had ice cream or playing with each others' hands fondly. We are several blocks away from all the barricades, So why don't we get in closer and go to Chinatown Coffee and then wandering down the H street. In the suburb,  I do not feel peace, Because the storm is coming. I'd rather go in the eye of the storm, with you Where you fell for me. This Capital love of ours , on the outskirts of D.C. Where in a perfect world we would both live in, like last time you told me on the way to E street.

Love on the inauguration day
It's suburbia When the dogs start howling with Ambulance sirens

You Know You're In The Suburbs
From the suburban trap I could never call home, I speed through the freeway. I could not possibly be late for a little rendezvous with a lover — My lover being the city With its promises preserved in concrete. I see the skyline from afar, lined with towers and smog And I feel alive the way lovers do with one another. And before I know it, I'm cruising along avenues Uniform houses of white turn to skyscrapers, I feel the subway slither beneath, filled with all kinds of stories, As my heart beats to the footsteps of pedestrians. And I stop at the main thoroughfare, What was once the dull light I've always known Now shines through an urban prism And muted hues turn to vibrant, living colors. And I am here in the glorious city, I am looking at a mirage of light and sound, In all its color, I hear it speak to me: You are alive, you are alive.

Downtown Dream
I could run forever Past this damaged dry wall I've got it all planned out Down to the last phone call Train jumping or hitch hiking By car or by plane I've got to get away from these people Before I go any more insane I've been wishing for a solace And to not be selfish or cold I can fix all these little things But my home I can't control I will run forever stop when I'm as far as I could get Without coming back around And then some This town is ******* the blood from my veins.

Run
trapped / these streets are like walls closing in on me / with spikes that are inching closer to my sanity, ready to tear me to shreds / already they are puncturing my lungs / it burns to breathe in this awful suburb and it's mirrored houses with the people smiling / the venom seeping through their teeth / my mind is collapsing into itself / not neat like a fabric napkin / like a telephone number written on a bar napkin crumbled in your back pocket
