#spare
A cricket wandered into the dark,
Lit only by the hum of machines.
He hopped in silence—
No song left to sing.
He found his final resting place.
Morning came.
His eyes, wide and lifeless,
Met no mourning in the end.

I always felt that i was rare
my name was written
for a beautiful fate ahead
i believed and I cared
but maybe I was just a spare
it is evident as of late
or it was like this forever
my eyeglasses weren't clear
so now that i see
as I compare me and her
and them, it feels so obvious
but there was nothing
I could have done different,
so I was blissfully unaware
I don't have another pair
and there is nothing to repair
it is a line to follow ahead
where life is not fair.

Where do you go when my presence is not there?
The absence of my gaze
Who's eyes get captured in a stare?
While you mouth the word "always"
What do you clutch when you're scared?
My hand too far away
Wonder how well you'll fare
On your own when skies turn grey
Does someone gently stroke your hair?
Are you genuinely okay?
Is it difficult to breathe air?
Body caught in a craze
When we are apart are you even aware?
That next to I no longer lay?
Am I nothing more than spare?
Part to use then throw away
For who do you pretend to care?
With constructed words you say
Many times you have said "I swear"
Unsaid it the very next day
Please answer the question "where?"
Where does your heart wander when it strays?

I see you’re feeling
pressed,
maybe you need some
rest
and you’ll be back at your
best.
You can always be my
guest
as long as you feel
stressed,
just come and head out
west.
It’s time that you
digest
what’s made you so
distressed.

You saw them suffering everyday as you passed by
So somedays you threw money in their little tin can
But their pain lies far beneath the surface
Homelessness is an illness that costs more than pocket change to cure
Starvation and injustice can't be paid with a full tin can
Their lifestyles cant be changed with ten thousand cans of change

I hope you have made
Good use of the pieces and
Parts you took from me

I throw my heart down at your feet
I bend over and wash it clean
It glitters before you in perfect shine
Like the sweat
Dripping from my body
Its so coated in that fragrant varnish
That my aching back
Is the last thing
To which you are keen

.
Would you Only
Stop,
Pause,
Wait,
Till I can reach out,
If you can't
Turn back to me?
I know
Love,
All the effort
Won't be mine.

the winds of change do
make me sick.
i cough and sniffle
for time already spent
on my hometown honeymoon.

Spare me of the self-hatred tonight
Spare me of the pain until sunlight.
Spare me of the sad dreams
I deserve at least one please.
Spare me of the desires and wishes
No-one ever knows what their future is.
Spare me of the cruelty and sour taste
I am tired of every spike of pain my hand creates.
Spare me of this disaster
Spare me yet I have no master.
Who the **** in this world will spare me of the truth?
I keep on bitting from life's poisonous fruit.
Who'd spare me of the true face of earth?
Who'll love the unlovable?
We're afraid of the truth
Yet we're unpredictable.
Who'll spare us all from the war?
If we're all our own murderers at the core?
Spare me I'm already dying
Why should we find the truth if we're all lying?

I want someone to need me
Or at least want me
To feel my presence
To turn to me for help
To cry on my shoulder
To ask to spend time with me
As much as I ask them
Because right now
I just feel like the unwanted friend
The one who no one really wants around
But politely puts up with
I'm the replaceable teammate
Who has useful skills
But my space could easily be filled
By a thousand other people
Everywhere I go
I am either unneeded
Unwanted, or replaceable
I am merely a spare person
Who people forgot
The moment I am beyond sight

Sometimes
a word or two
tells it all.
Sometimes
it doesn't at all!
Sometimes a wispy
cloud marks
the colossal lofty sky!
Sometimes the sun
hides behind a
splash of cloud.
Joy or grief
knows no time
can get it in no time:
A sigh or a breath
of fresh air.
A poem is the last spare!

And when I do you will fall lower,
Lower than where you already were.
You will get strange sorts of fever,
Will blight you a higher temperature.
Be ****** you will for torturing me,
And you won't die but live to see me rise.
You isolated me from the world over,
Even my parents thought I was wrong.
But now they understand how I was wrong,
Because I was wrong in choosing you as my friend.
With a high dengue fever you already have been down,
Now with another fear away you will just be blown.
If I suffer because of you then rest assured,
Because you will not either be spared.
Time calls you to mend your ways soon,
Or nobody will know why you get a swoon.

Two broken teeth from a perfect cavity
Wrapped in her blue handkerchief
Jumping and skipping, defying gravity
Down the dingy lane, with an orange leaf
Bored of walking, she used the spare tyre
Cramped into it, she spun her own world
Along came the dogs, howling louder than fire
Down the dingy lane, now really wanting to hurl
After what felt like a lifetime, the spinning hushed
She stood up, looking for her hanky with eyes wild
An old man found it, grabbed her hand & her face flushed
Down the dingy lane, with missing front teeth, he smiled.

Step forward,
turn your front leg backward.
Spin into round kick inward.
Must be like a cowboy
Korean versions of a bad boy
Hidden skill shown with a coy
Jump spin into 360 kicks,
By breaking those sticks,
Then onto those bricks.
Further test your skill with an opponents,
Becoming strategic with your movements,
Bashing their heads against your martial improvements.
Taste your first defeat,
Your blood upon your lips,
Spilling from your head.
Move forward,
Onward,
Aim toward victory from inward.
For defeat is not an option,
Winning is the true completion,
Because being number one is accomplishment.
So why are you laying on your own puddle of blood,
Defeated like a soak dog,
Get up and fight!

I found a penny on the ground today.
And you better believe I picked it up.
And I held that little delicate coin in my hands so tight.
That the color started to fade away.
I was holding on so tight hoping that this penny would be the answer to my questions.
I was holding on so tight trying to make my dreams come true.
I was holding on so tight that Honest Abe himself shouted:
“Hey kid, **** off!”

Couldn't you spare a glance?
Couldn't you spare a smile?
Couldn't you spare a hey?
Couldn't you spare an indicator that you acknowledge my existence?

I saw a man on the street he was
Of a sorrowed face,
Glum on what walked on by.
I spoke,
"Why do you sit there in your suit"
"He spoke"
"Got any spare faith"
"Spare some prayer"
I'm down on my luck, my suit once
White, now tarnished by the many
Names I have.
"A word is powerful"
"Religion was my gift"
"Now its my curse"
I must admit no offense, but I am of those
Of no religious consequence, I believe
In the seen not of what......
"This is my pain"
"This is why I ask for some spirit"
As he drinks back from a brown paper bag,
"Its not what you think"
"Holy water to keep my spirit up"
"OK"
"That's what they call it these days"
Look I know your lost, not finding your place
In this world, you had a good run, but we
Have graduated moved on.
"My words are used wrongly"
"Its not their spirit breaking"
"Mine is faltering as well"
"Look I know the doubt you have"
"But were not children anymore"
I point to the heavens, look up there, we're
No longer in the crib, we grew and were
Moving further out, those that believe,
You still have. But as time moves forward
Ourselves we will have faith in not
A past tense book that split us up.
"Peace be with you old man on the street"
"I haven't got a prayer"
"But a few coins for food of thought"
And I left him, looking back as him
I saw him palms joined together,
Hearing these words spoken out.
"Got any spare faith"
"Spare some prayer"

Let's take a minute,
Just You and Me.
Let us talk
Like the friends we used to be.
I don't hold grudges,
I don't point blame.
But it's really got me hurt
'Cause things aren't the same.
I fall and I bleed,
You know I'm human too?
And the scars that you don't spare me
Are the ones that I'd spare you.

oh please, **** you
and your opinion,
good deeds are selfish,
dont you know, so why
dont u spare me the kindness
of blessing me without
your words for a while,
just like i fail to do to you,
with everything u dont want
to hear,
sorry i guess,
but if she can come off as bipolar,
so can you.

Cardboard doubles
as shredded sheets
"Spare a little change,
trying to make ends meet
Just seeking refuge
from the cold and sleet"
Well, the Savior didn't have a place
to lay His head
So maybe they're closer to Him
than I am
But people see the signs
All they do is stare
Wonder, what's he done
and where's she been?
I couldn't cast the stone
cuz my record ain't clean
No one gave me
the judgement rod
And you, sir, don't look like God
Driving by
rolling up your windows and
down your nose
"Probably for drugs,"
your judgments say
"Lazy *** will
squander it away"
As if you and I
never fail, please don't forget
we've just been given
a better circumstance,
missed some unfortunate
happenstance
Do you squander love?
Waste your privilege?
We're all the same
Skin bones and blood
And I know I'm
begging for change
on the streets of human love
Forgetting I've been given grace
from the Divine
Covered by love that looks like
water blood and wine
Maybe my friend
the "homeless ***
is really a bit closer
to the One
