coat gone from the rack, the wall once covered now can breath. the can that blurs and reddens hands, sits sweating crumpled on the ground. tv meal, peeled back exposed, the warmth now gone, cold closing in. dried up mud from leather boots, lodged itself into the floor. the only light sheds from the moon, curtains swept back, forced to bare. a mouse trap claps, a seal of fate. two headlights up the driveway crawl. 3.4.26

headlights
my cold breath surrounded me, then disappeared, just like you. red lights danced on the wet road, the same road that took you away. hands cemented to the wheel, i watch the rain turn to snow. was it snowing for you too? my headlights shine on your name. stars colluding like we used to, flowers just don’t seem enough. did you think it’d be like this? howl of the wind was my reply. 3.4.26

midnight howl
the ticking clock - it soothes, headaches sneak in like a crime. now in its place, a quiet slithers, leaving foreign trails behind. walls tainted with a past, bearing scars of reckless times. alas, it warns of five o’clock, sun mirrors back two bloodshot eyes. 3.4.26

not so silent night
My life may contain appellations of various shades and stratifications, and love may seem peppered by the bullets of blame... but this soul that is divine, as ribbons festooning my mind, whose eye isn't blind to an original blueprint you can't build nor find Exogenously.

Endogenous
She hobbles to the park bench. “Do you mind if I sit with you?” The couple, uncommonly bathed in white Remain silent, not breaking their gaze Into each other’s eyes. She takes it as a yes. “You two must be so in love. I remember what it felt To look that very way at my Own beloved,” And so she recalls, looking up As if searching for her partner’s Home in the heavens, Sharing her story with strangers As the lonely so often do, Her voice strolling through the past. Tears in her eyes, she pats the cold, hard Shoulder And thanks them for listening. Using them to steady herself Before hobbling into the art museum.

Elderly Love
It is the same rain that you loved that drowned you The same ocean that you swore would never harm you, but did The same fire you said only warmed you, but charred your face. The same ice that you said cooled you, but blackened your finger tips It is the same rain that you loved to dance in, because you knew you might fall The same ocean that you loved to swim in, because you knew you might sink The same fire that you loved to sit by, because you might burn And the same ice that you held, because you might learn It is the same rain that you loved, but yet it never loved you back Just a way out of the world that you promised yourself you’d leave, but failed Or so you thought, because I’m here to hold you close now To guide you through this endless sea of time that you never thought you’d sail But here you are It is the same rain that you loved that pushed you Grabbed a hold of the feet that you stood on as you listened to the only words That spoke to you Held you for a second, convinced you that you were loved before you fell If only you would’ve screamed for help If you did it was nothing but a whisper that barely made it past your lips You knew you wouldn’t come back down to where i knew you would’ve lasted But you are in another place now, a place I cannot reach And although it is you standing by my side, it’s just a body
