Whose House is this?
They prone that they love you But they do not They claim that they adore you But they do not They betray, hate and stab you The corrupt politicians are strange and evil They shoot you everywhere even in the back They are white, brown, purple and black They fake everything about you; they are cruel Yet they want you to succeed in this Hell. They talk about you, Haiti, all the time But they do not love you They sing about you, and for you all the time Yet, they lie about you too Haiti, you have only enemies and ‘friends’ Who act like they want to hold your hands Yet, they abhor you and steal from you They rob whenever the opportunity comes In lieu of sweets they put small lethal bombs Under your tongue. They hate, loot and stab you Haiti, Haiti they do not care about you They are only concerned about their families And their overflowing pockets. They hate you They don’t give a **** or a dawn about you Haiti is an impoverished and over-exploited Oasis. She is not a hole. She’s underappreciated Her matricidal children, scoundrels, fools and imbeciles Forget that Haiti was once the ‘Pearl of the Antilles”. P.S. Happy Independence Day Beloved Haiti Chérie! Happy New Year 2026! Copyright © December 31, 2025 Hébert Logerie, All rights reserved. Hébert Logerie is the author of several poetry collections.

Haiti, Beloved Country
First it starts off with wanting freedom, who would ever deny such a request? If you can’t join them then beat ‘em, you’ve been waiting to, you confess. In the years, lost count of how you’ve been mistreating, and then complain when you face the protest that isn’t retreating, and they keep repeating; “clean up your act, clean up your mess.” “You shouldn’t have come back, stop silencing the press.” Politicians only like you when they need you, they’ll promise jobs that will house and feed you. You know it’s a story that’s as old as time, government was the first organized crime. They only really want yours and mine. Now it continues with asking for human rights, it shouldn’t be a question but a demand. It spins your head that they have the audacity to start fights, maybe this whole dictatorship hasn’t went as you planned. So within a couple of days and nights you have select cities armed and manned, to face down a group that holds each other tight, that’s more afraid of your outrageous tan, than of your pitiful bark and bite. “Clean up your act, clean up your mess” “We’ve made a pact, we won’t be oppressed.” Politicians only like you when they need you, in a moment they’ll switch, cut and bleed you. You know it’s a story that’s as old as time, government was the first organized crime. They won’t even read your sign. Politicians only like you when they need you, once in command they’ll ignore or impede you. You know it’s a story as old as time, government was the first organized crime; shake you down for each nickel and dime. Watch how high they’ll climb, even in their prime, known for their slime, and covering up their grime.

Peace, peace and sincere peace We all wish, dream and confuse about peace Are we really serious, thirsty and hungry for peace Even though the gunships and cannons are set and ready To go, to attack the weak and the imagined enemies? Do we truly want a world of brotherly harmonies? Yet, superpowers invest their time, ingenuity, and moneys In smart drones, powerful guns and well-trained armies Are we sure that we want lasting peace? This world is made of corrupt goons, pogamists, liars and bullies Warmongers are hypocritical, strange, sneaky and devious This agitprop about peace is delusional headlines or breaking news To startle or to ****** elderlies, idealists, and crying babies Politicians are godawful sensationalists on steroid Where muzzled reporters and anchors are ridiculed and toyed By elected pogromists in search of free publicities Yet, yes we yearn for peace and tranquility in the burgs and cities Peace is about coming with clean and caring hands To share the streams, the land, the sand and the highlands. Peace, Peace, And Honest Peace
All rebels of light We know not death We know not life. But if we rise today Tomorrow’s heaven Will shine so bright! Set fire To the devil’s parliament! No—no more No—no more tears No—no more lament.

At the end of the day - Tanka
It’s been known that “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Yet society seems to want to forget this very quote Are we willingly ignorant, or have we forgotten That a land composed of bloodshed Will end in ruin? Do we not know that the Sandy Hook Elementary School children Would’ve been able to vote this year? Do we not know that giving guns more freedom than humans Will only result in more tiny graves? Are we aware that the law people are using To excuse sending away human who only want to Live Is the same law that allowed internment camps to be legal? Do we not know that these arguments wouldn't be able to make exist If not for Mother Earth? But we still want to sink our drills into her Like wicked parasites. We shame women who are too terrified To tell the horrors they have lived through Yet turn a blind eye when they say that An abuser becomes the leader. German soldiers in World War II Thought they were saving their economy and Protecting their nation But history only remembers them as the villains Why do we refuse to see that we already know how this plays out? “A country that runs on the blood of its own children is doomed to crumble from the inside out,” we scream. We scream and we scream and we scream, begging for people to hear our cries. Hear us when we cry out that nothing will come of this except enough bloodshed to bathe an army and more corpses than there are living. Hear us when we say society is evolving backwards so we already know the end. Hear us when we cry our warnings, mourning what will become of our nation. Hear us when we can say nothing more, buried six feet under, hear us as we plead from ever-growing caskets as you stomp on our graves. Hear us when we say, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

Strange things happen in politics We cannot trust the polls Life has its own ***** tricks We can play divers roles This is not business as usual Always fight to save one's soul. Things are upended in politics Ignore the belligerent critiques Everything happens in a season For an un-intelligible reason Nobody can predict the results Of an election filled with insults. Politics in many countries are very ***** We all can see why. Politics are slushy Voters lie. They mislead the pollsters Who behave like palm readers Like inexperienced magicians So they can foul the naïve audience. Things are pell-mell in politics Life has its own yucky tricks Everything occurs for an obscure reason Under the lights of an unusual horizon No anchors can predict the results Of an election filled with assaults. Upside-Down In Politics
Our voices have been stymied, choked off, obstructed Forever. Let every single vote be counted and tabulated All must live up and adhere to the democratic principles Let the vote counters do their jobs. The real exit polls Are taking place now.Everybody's votes are important Everybody's voices must be heard; we are adamant About that. Let's the hard working volunteers do their jobs We will have a NEW soon. Let our fighters use the big jabs. Leave the indefatigable clerks alone, let them count the ballots Stop the nonsense. Quit acting belligerent in the parking lots All votes must be counted. Democracy is a meticulous process Be patient. It takes time and resiliency to see and reap its success Our voices must be heard. Democracy has its particular finesse. Copyright © November, 2020 Hébert Logerie, All rights reserved Hébert Logerie is the author of several collections of poetry.

All Votes Must Be Counted And Tabulated
A human being needs to be educated In order to make the world a better place An uneducated politician or bully is a serious menace To our vulnerable society. Ignorance is deeply rooted In racism, violence, greed, crimes, frauds, lies and deceits Banning or ending the department of Education Will cause irreparable harms to the Nation Most convicted criminals have no advance degrees Most recidivists and racists behave like animals on the streets Like wild tigers in the jungles, like sneaky foxes in the prairies Most pathological liars are hardened criminals A good or high-quality education can turn devils into angels Choosing educated leaders are indeed paramount Well-educated politicians are smart and benevolent A brain needs the seeds of instruction and education A tactless or illiterate mind can easily desolate a great Nation. If they give me a bag of money, I might be willing to participate. Imagine.. Six digits for my soul! I could live the life of royalty and corrupt the kingdom more. But instead I believe I'm blessed to be poor...

Bless The Poor
Well, so they tell us- the political gladiators and heavy weights. That in permanent servitude we must remain. They create a void in our stomachs, which they momentarily fill with what they carted away from us. Just for their self will and whims for another leap year's tenure to be entrenched. They widen the capacity for evil of the canines they have intentionally starved. For a bone's morsel, the canines viciously their draconian orders execute. Just for their masters' sit-tight bid to be guaranteed. Restrained with the servile chains of their desperate overlords, they bark ravenously at the oppressed, who have come to liberate themselves at polling units. Each time the unworthy is by the ballot box overthrown, the ravenous canines at the hands of feeble patriots gnaw. A pound of flesh they take from the down-trodden kingmakers, to usurp the power they have in good governance vested. The umpire with filthy lucre gratified, raises the hand of the fraudulently triumphant political Brahmin, who for another leap year's tenure subjugates his dalits with utter deprivation; ASUU strikes, poor infrastructure, incessant power cuts, poor health delivery, persistent insecurity, unemployment and the cancerous bad governance. With fat cheeks and stiff neck that is well sunken into a robust torso, he regularly raises the sides of an African attire of elitist renown, set once more to amass more spoils of political office for a privileged family dynasty.

Who knows Not the best of us Nor the stargazers Not the book readers Nor the book writers Especially not the politicians Who never stop To ask the question Or to ask any questions Their nature is to accumulate Pretend to lead Pretend to guide Still, their nature is taking Some pretend to tilt toward compassion Toward caring Toward altruism Me, a grizzled octogenarian Asks no questions Merely wonders Where has all of the wonder gone Is altruism real And if it is, why is It ******* by greed

Quorum
Feed me, to feel filled to the brim. in a watery run, as in a thirsty throat. Never let my veins' moisture dry up. Because I have irresistible feelings. The dot on which I put you is pure. The trust that nature gives is clear. Let nature nurture the blue and black. And let's let blue and black decide. For myself, I vote for both blue and white. Beyond sunset, there's the sun rise. And, above sunrise, it's a sunset. Above our eyes is a blue sky. Below our feet is precious sand. We walked a long way across. We dig deep to mine or drill. We explore it as gaseous, liquid or solid. What is it, we are give in return? Besides, we joined the queues for voting. And the rewards are fear and threats. The masses were defeated by insurgents. Farms are no more but villagers' graves. It's scary to walk alone or stay behind. There are no more homes to dwell in. but a pair of legs to run for survival. Sometimes to win is to see failure. Sometimes to fail is to succeed. And in our hearts, none of them is right.

The rich never get poorer the poorer get the shaft the rich buy yachts and villas as they laugh, and laugh We've tried taxing the one percent only to find, that's passed along to everyone that's not that rich the same ol dance, and song Lets tax the corporations what oh, what, could go wrong? tax sheltered deliberations not short lived, but ohhh, so long The Democrats have no answers the Republicans, even less there's never a way to reform when they're part of all that's wrong

It's just the way it is... (some things will never change)
It’s bad enough being governed by tossers but those who might lie about what they’ve done to prove they deserve their title; changing diaries, blogs and saying, well we didn’t get the e-mail…No, honestly - no note! Well listen to me you tosspot - you ain’t got my vote! Politicians who don’t take steps to deal with crises on a Friday - but put it off till Monday ‘cos, well, it’s the weekend - and we don’t do weekends… Well, I know I’m not even a cog in the wheel… but I AM a voter… and, you posh-boy procrastinators whilst your **** points downwards - No sir! I ain’t your voter! If everything’s unprecedented, exponential - non essential that just means you failed… your eye wasn’t on the ball - you bailed! Countries that tumbled first surely that put the writing on the wall. That should have given you a clue - but no - not with you. Cobra? Err, sorry couldn’t do the first five… Shame mate - ‘cos half of those that died might still have been alive. You ain’t got my vote! So how can you do it? What? Well, make amends! I’ve got a good idea -  why not work weekends! And, while you’re at it why not just own up to not coping very well. The Game’s up! And, after you’re voted out next time just go to hell! You ain’t got my vote! Is that the door?… I’ll get my coat!

and now the numbers are rising again hospitals filling ICUs getting sparse it seems this virus actually is a bit more dangerous than the common flu no matter what irresponsible leaders across the globe keep telling their citizens against the advice of medical experts despite almost 30 million infected 1 million dead and hundreds of millions of jobless encouraging their followers to ignore safety instructions making them believe it is OK again to spread infections on parties and in discos or massive election campaign events continuing the vicious circle … continuing …. continuing …. continuing...
