#penumbra
You are a thought that doesn't need to be chased I’m here w/you, Penumbra, light shadow graced Almost in a partial shade at an edge of darkness Thin in soft layers, slipping thru a flowing dress, Traces of you remain in the outer of a foggy ring A place of the gradient--where light & dark sing, Overlap negotiate a word companion barely real Uncertain beauty her presence trembles to reveal Moments pass between us, feel it shape the light, Fades a coming dawn, between us, touches sight Something soft lingers, meaning leans gradually, The moon in the sand waves that beckon us a sea In the morning of a light draw me to a very edge, The light hesitates, our shadows reach and yearn, An almost in a barely kiss the possibilities in turn

My Light Penumbra
stepping from the shadows into the penumbra violent salty seas return to chaotic calms i understood in the beginning but i’ve lost the plot along the way, days bleed into days, mistakes live in the grey tumbling towards the sea from cloud nine dreams idealistic, unrealistic, done climbing the tree done trying to see past the unclarity, revoke my charity done climbing the tree

If I told you to visit this moment To look around just an instant, Would you refuse, would you consent? Would you see what no-else can? If you did, how could you share? In penumbra, light up the flair? What if you did, what if you dared? What if you did yet no-one cared? Everything sees through its essence, Anything else it may comprehend. Here lies the Fog, a forest so dense, Spreading across, throughout the land. Right up in front, close to your faces, Written in crust are a thousands promises. And along its growth at increasing pace, At each of your blinks a few words erase. Now you look back, but now it's too late. Now's what you'd purchase at any given rate. When there's no time and where there's no fate Nothing no longer ever has to wait. Plunged in darkness, see that you're blind; Even there lurks something that shines. Here is the Way, that path you must find, Hidden within and without any sign. When life stretches much too far to see, To look way further is never to be free. When gazing below, deep down the dark sea, Know that beyond always floats this clarity. So here I've been asking, but I'll ask one more time: Having been through, is there two of a kind? When raised in this manner, no question's ever clear; Thus poems and rhymes are allowed to end here.

Crossroads (2015)
The penumbra that is loss, cast upon us abruptly The light creeping onto shadow, kissing its edge Gazing on the dimness or light, betwixt the two we strive Arbitration just beyond our sphere, amidst our grief Concentrating on the brilliance, a difficult endeavor Maneuvering in darkness, nearly impossible Remain fixed on the penumbra, await the separation The momentum of loss may cast us in an impetuous direction But an eclipse does not last forever

Grief
This is an SOS This is to keep from blowing my brains out This is to save another's life This is for tomorrow This is what it has always been

What it has always been
...and the angel covered his eyes with another world's light for her penumbra was not enough to perceive.

A Forgotten Revelation
The sun undresses its silky rays before the blushing earth. The earth gazes, her sapphire eyes soak in the glimmering shot of dawn. The moon hide away, curving against the hangnail of light. Stars scintillate their last dust of evening. “You always act like you’ve never seen me before.” The sun removes another layer. “Like each time is too good to be true. ” Spinning, the earth grows dizzy. “You are the one who abandons me in the dark.” Above the horizon, the sun smiles. “Clairvoyance is buried inside of you. You know I will always return.” The sun’s amber skin radiates along coasts and cities, intensifying. Brightness diminishes- night turns into day into night once more. “I’m still alive for you, love.” The earth tucks in the trails of dusk as the sun cradles revolving planets. “See you again, soon.”

Lost in the Penumbra
A priceless beast, so prideful and mild With eyes so clear, full of wisd'm and guile. Nevertheless, true child of the wild: Untamed shadow with a taunting smile. To revel in your pride and beauty, I hunt you down, make you my trophy, Put you on display, for all to see Your beauty, pride and serenity. But when caged and trapped, you have lost your pride, Lost your raw beauty, lost your wild side. So pitiful it sickens me inside... When shown that to yourself you must be true, With parting utterance I release you: "May the eternal hunt begin anew."

PENUMBRA
There is this moment. After hectic hours in the daylight. The view minutes after the landscape was painted in the splashing colors of sunset. Before some people fall asleep Or break out in an insane serenity Caused by the feeling of being incognito Under the invisibility cloak of the night. There is a moment of placidity. When the last rays of sunlight Battle with the first stars For the ********** of the sky. When the shadows grow longer And blur between light and darkness. When the surroundings are dim-lit I am the most alive. The silence makes me hear. The monochrome paints make me see. I step out of the penumbra And vanish in the outlines of the world.
