#outdoors
Tent unfolding us to pitch sleep, Beneath stars hoping to keep their location on lock. White dandelions suddenly dock. Everything in our periphery froze, Except the sniffing black bear nose. Smelling our uncooked meat stored, Our sparkling blood-red wine, we’ve yet to pour. Careful how we slept, how we snored, We missed the bear who wore his hunger in his yellow teeth clinched, challenging the comfort of our disbelief, since we allowed ourselves the deepening forest of sleepy star lullaby chorus. We should have been alert and not shirk, observing signs reading, “Careful bears at work.”

Beautiful solar powered bodies slowing the world down now Gelato belly over the trunks abandoned shirts in the sand reclaimed just in time for pasta at sundown Glimpse the world on a neon wrist I will get and I got kissed

Amalfi
Far beyond the bush weeds and cattails, past the mossy rock and cedar grove - there is a place only a few lucky souls can see. A place where mushroom capped gnomes and butterfly winged faeries dance under the moonlight. Smoke plumes from small pebble stacked chimneys as fireflies float about lighting the grove. A magical place of whimsy, where the faeries play and the Treefolk root the woods. The life force of the wild, the heart of the forest, hidden to most, but for those who know, the busy bodies are always working.

THE HEART OF THE FOREST
. i made the front door my enemy staying inside to concentrate                on written projects i devilled away days                     exorcised away my rights                 to the world out there now (with projects complete)     i approach the door      theorize that I am wanted beyond                        to receive sustenance                        and be free of my aches ... ... or       to become sustenance                       give in to my condition       to pass back my remaining value    hand in my report                    with the staples removed be resolved                                   as some gaseous defeat i bravely open the door              there is no attack by nature nor any euphoric reward        i am left alone to feel my own way to give and receive breaths                 steps are taken                                            and signals interpreted rejoining the world                     as if uninterrupted

Today was the end of my life, yet tomorrow I see all. I am a rocket creature      /      My bones lie melted, in the forest, the trees are  /   tire tracks which scar my mangled body: my landing strip. No better     \    flesh and bones and sanctuary than this     /          humanitarian malice. God-given world,             /       Betrayal by the ones we preceded, untouched; delicate arboretum    \      metal glowing eyes above, Palm fronds— my blankets and    \    screaming rubber wheels, everlasting life felt through the wind in my fur. Anti-anthropomorphic heaven,     /     throat charred of secondhand;   I take   /   the blood of my posterity stained green for granted. She     \   sees the world I am at the mercy of,      who does not belong to me,      \      I am a slave to what he wants yet I am a microscopic essentialist     /    and a blink of robotic velocity                         to her                   /           in which I cannot keep up. Born of Gaia and a martyr of Growth.

Roadkill
The shuttlecock, served, Goes over the net. I'll probably lose The dollar I bet. Over the net It goes back and forth: It goes north to south, And it goes south to north. The birdie in flight Flits like a sparrow. She hits it so hard It darts like an arrow. I smack it as hard As I can possibly smack it, And, wouldn't you know it: It's stuck in my racquet.

Birds of Leisure
Soothing hue, tranquil blue. A scene serene in testament to you. I thank it, this blanket hung soft in the sky, and drift on the breeze, the mute lullaby. We are children of stars, all of us each, if you look way back far beyond memory's reach. Past fire and lightning, spirit and beast, our atoms return, and stars we complete. Look to the sky, our bubble of blue. A window our parent forever feeds through. A gentle notion, and grace in a descending motion so subtle we feel only a warmth on our face as we float in a breathable ocean. A mirror perhaps it holds above and paints in clouds the world with spires and cities and oceans and shifts so subtle in ways unseen so we won't forget the nature of where we've been. For though the world seems still and quiet it shifts and it's easy to pass by it, as we focus on each little thing there's a joy that it brings, our Ozone, in its patterns of premature recognitions shapes that are born in a state of remission and only those who are readily staring see that the earth is patient and caring.

Mushroom Cap
I knew It was coming the moment I opened the door. The sky warned me. A distant, dull voice whispered, "You can't beat It." The sweetest sadness slowly ****** each syllable. I accepted the challenge and began to pedal. For a while, I pedaled without disturbance, except for a distant, dull sky sadly trailing behind. Watching. Waiting. Knowing. Then It came. It took its time. It was not the one who needed to hurry. I pedaled on and felt It kiss the tip of my forehead, then lick the side of my nose, leaving me cold. I began to count the touches; one, two -pedal, pedal, pedal, pedal - three - pedal, pedal, pedal - four - pedal - five - pedal, pedal - six -pedal - seven - pedal - eight, nine, ten... And I’m drenched.

The Second Confession
A leaf In the gentle autumn breeze Softly falls to Earth, Together with its siblings It lines the woodland path. The ground below is cold but soft, Still sensing the September sun, Not yet has winter’s icy breath Been felt, not yet its reign begun. The creatures of the forest Patter to and fro, Their feet and wings stirring the leaves On the ground below. By comes a fox, takes careful watch, Then vanishes from sight, By comes a robin, plucking berries And then, once more, takes flight, By comes a squirrel, in its search For nuts it takes delight, And finally, by comes the owl, Waiting for the cloak of night. The leaf, still lying on the ground, Is eager for another day But then, by comes a gust of wind And carries it away.

Labyrinths
a lavender light brushes by a crested sky, withering toils though the weathered roads crack still in our tread home, the sky turns alone. verdant cascades fall from lush rounded peaks above rolling hills dive deep with oneiric breaths, from rivers to the roots who echo ebbs & flows

Sweet vanilla kisses, amid an explosion of bubblegum sauce. With lips now blue, we break and share a flake; The chocolate melting in our mouths, Like my heart, the first time I met you. “You’ve got a bit on your nose," I say. Laughing, you wipe it away elegantly. Fresh strawberries planted in eager mouths, Excited eyes blazing in the sun. This love is intoxicating. Sinking satisfyingly into a strawberry bliss, Summer love is planted on the tongue. Savouring: the taste, the moment, savouring the one.

Seas of anchors beneath the earth Take hold the dew of morning For truth givers and life bearers Hands stretched to the sky, demanding Freedom and peace and strength and serenity An understanding of things unknown Power purely born into existence From a single, simple seed

Dreamlike
Ripples of water, reflections of the night sky and inflections of why, words came but all authors’ pens dried and faltered, moments of the divine lost to the sacrilege of time, feeling came but altered. Darkness came and surrounded, confusion came and confounded, as deep as valleys, as tall as mountains, heartbeat in chest pounded. Little lamp lead the way, the end is not today. Tomorrow will come and stay, so do what I must to stay a lit by this gentle flame, as all of will not be in vane. I said aloud in a moment of panic to stay sane. But time came and the light did not falter, faith grew in this little, little light of mine, and it grew to shine without any signs of alter. Hope flickered as the flame stayed a lit on the twine. Alone and afraid, frayed rope dwindling burning as vibrant kindling, however closer did it fade luckily in the darkness laid, countless stars swindling. My heart rejoices as I have made it to the rekindling. No longer alone, no longer afraid pulse dropped, pounding stopped the stars came and a lit my flame I need to thank them all by name. As I laid staring up at the stars, feeling so small and alone on Mars, I forgot all of the people who have came who shared their soul and flame. I hope I can keep being your flame, and a piece of yours mine. Days will be dark and dreary, but shine on and shine forth into the night.
