I am the boy who sits at the back of the class; I am the myth and legend, that you have never heard laugh.
I am the eloquent, who so seldom speaks "Good day." and "Goodbye."
I am the b r o k e n, though you will never see me; p a r t i a l or cry.
I am the Lie.
I am the Lie, well housed in the illusion of an ever-present smile.
I am the wary traveller, exhausted yet still encouraging others to walk the extra mile.
I am the dying and ill, who screams to others. "Keep surviving and living, hold fast to your will; life once truly lived, has both bad and good."
I am a human... for better or worse. I am a duality to all others; either a blessing or a curse.
I am a song sang, though others remember only a verse... I am a play, that has been exhaustively rehearsed.

There is a vast green tract
And a fresh bluish course
A mile from here.
There is a big sinewy tree
And profuse green tea
A mile from here.
There is also a groovy human race
And a grabby human face
A mile from here.
But there is no humanity
Nor sanity
Anywhere round here.

When my body won't hold me anymore
And it finally lets me free
When my feet won't walk another mile
And my lips give their last kiss goodbye
Will you be strong for me when I get old
Will you be my all and take loan
When the love becomes zero
Will I be your pillow
When I'm shaking and cold
When I need your hands to hold
Will you hold me in the night
As you held me in the light
Will you be jealous again
When our love fades away
Will you still be my other half
If my last love song is halleluyah
If your best colour is no more
blue
Will you still be true
Will you understand why
If you get to know I lied

I stand alone on the rock
restless from my long walk.
A journey I've taken for awhile
with pain aching at every mile.
I have finally made it to the place,
but I am alone in this race.
I have lost so many in this journey
and sadly it hurts me.
I have only had God who never left
and He knew what was best.
Now I stand on this rock just God and me,
and maybe that's where I need to be.

Walk a mile wearing my shoes
Then you can say you understand
What you can't see is that I need
More than just a helping hand
You don't know how it feels
To forever fail and fall
And spend hours wistfully waiting
For your favorite person to call
Close to breaking down
About to cave in and cry
Too doubtful to say Hello
Too afraid to say goodbye
Not quite fitting in here
A tad off, a bit out of place
Sad yet beautiful hazel eyes
Overshadowed by an ugly face
I don't know where I belong
Or which way I should go
But until you have walked the same path
Don't you dare tell me you "know"

How come we have to die
To show up in someone's mind
You can have a thousand friends
That all showed up after the end
Who pretend that they were there,
Who pretended that they had cared.
All the people standing over my hole,
I'm staring at you from six feet down here
But if this life isn't, why believe death is fair.
They keep speaking of tragedy
Being the only way to really promote peace
Cooking enough enemy meat to have a feast
But the enemy is me when the enemy is you
Both told we are right, both believing it's true.
When we both fell to the floor its only then we knew
We truly only have one life to lose.
Remember being kids? Remember where we lived?
Living the only place we could afford to go,
Spent eight years getting out of the mold
So when this anxiety and panic even try to take hold
I use those cards I was dealt to never fold.
Im not asking for a thing because everything
I ever had was mine
And if it all fades away that's absolutely fine
The memories are the only thing I won't leave behind.
And that's absolutely fine.

Mile after mile, bald tires and no gas,
Half grand car, expected to go fast?
Looking for help, but when asked all they say..

Your love is a fire
which burns higher and higher.
Started from some caring hands,
it burns throughout our forested land.
It's burned the country mile by mile,
and it won't stop burning for a while.

floating smoke in the summer air
drifting along then dissipates.
the pounding in a head,
vessels pulsing and constant movement.
fingers dancing across a keyboard, to
incorporate a checklist of knowings and
to-be-knowns -
the insecurities of new scenery
mile marker after mile marker
and you’re happy, but irresolute.
someone tripped over the cord again,
yanked it out and dragged it away
a moment, and a guarantee
let’s look and see, to be sure there’s something more
than a simple crank of a machine, grown
rusted and unmanageable over years
I’m tracing back,
looking for something
I think I missed it.
these fingers that hold my wrist
and suggest
“please, let me assist”
you know what’s best.

They say "walk a mile in their shoes"
so you can understand their blues.
But I have traveled all around,
hundreds of shoes upon the ground.
The fisherman in the shack by the sea
who, to a hurricane, lost his family.
The old soldier lying drunk in the gutter,
who saw three wars that still make him shudder.
I've worn hundreds of shoes, two for each mile.
and for every frown, I found a smile.
The young, bright-eyed child in the park,
whose puppy just caught a frisbee with a bark.
The young couple on the couch
tangled together,
knowing through anything they will be forever.
They say "walk a mile in their shoes,"
so you can understand their blues.
But if you "love a mile in their heart"
and you truly learn who they are.

In sheer dejection and remorse
Let us understand to reinforce
That love just has its own course
But beauty needs its real discourse
So let my love come face to face
To make a real solid useful base
Approach may differ case to case
But let us move from pace to pace
Your sweetest charm and style
Makes me to think for a while
Relation gets strength from soil
love journey from mile to mile
My sweetheart, my real solace
Be my partner in every crisis
Be beam of light in the darkness
Your presence is just so precious
Let us establish real love stance
Let us pay price for the glance
Let our lunacy take real trance
Glow of beauty to make us dance

Going on a road trip
Something for my soul
It's gonna take a while
But, it's gonna make me whole
I'm going to cross the country
But, I'll start on both the coasts
I've been in too many bottles
Have to exorcise some ghosts
Mile Marker Three Three Three Nine
That's where the dream did end
Mile Marker Three Three Three Nine
That's where I'll start to mend
Greyhound bus out of the east
From the Maritimes my son
I'll venture through Quebec as well
This is journey number one
I'll stop and meet the people
Get their stories, of the man
I'll find the ones who met him
Try to learn just what I can
Adversity, I've had my share
Always tried self medication
Now, I need to find myself
This will take some dedication
I'll head on through Ontario
On the Trans Canada Highway route
And I'll try lose my demons
Give my devils all the boot
Brick by brick I'll bring down the walls
That over years I've built
Bricks made up of hate and rage
by love, and fear and guilt
From the west, I'll make my way
Do the highway he could not
Through the rocky mountains
Every mile is hard fought
I'll learn about the person
Who he was and who I am
I'll come through the fire stronger
I'll be a much better man
I will bus across the prairies
Through the Manitoba cold
I will focus on my endgame
I'll learn from what I'm told
Two journeys I will travel
Neither one from coast to coast
But, both are to be ended
by that famous mile post
Maybe I can find the answer
Join myself, go through the door
As he joined a nation
So many years before
Mile Marker Three Three Three Nine
That's where my journey ends
Mile Marker Three Three Three Nine
That's where I'll start to mend

You're beautiful,
Yes, you are, undoubtedly.
But the way you smile-
It's the icing on the cake!
And it's indispensable.
Neither you can live without that perfect smile,
Nor I can imagine any light of day or dark of night without it,
Let alone traveling a mile without thinking of your smile.

I stood apart with aloof dignity
A distant smile
He was upstage with strangers
Erudite I am with many
Downtrodden was never
Aloof for the school of accepted
Erudiate becomes obsolete

I took the first step
there is no exit around
In studying medicine I grip
I'll try not to fall in the ground
It will be a long trip
Silent with no sound
I may face failures and flip
But I am sure I will rebound
I will try not to fall on a web
Because there is no a second round
All the social events I will skip
That is a fact I just found
But my dreams will be my rep
That turns a mountain into a mound
Medicine, it's a long way
It's one thousand miles away!!!

you shined once
stirred the waters
made em all stand up and take notice
a romeo dancin in the spotlight
charmed the prettiest of the fast lane
had vanity nailed while you cherished the high-life
but it has a way of sneaking away on you
cause chasing the dream is a full time occupation
a devotion of the addiction to the limelight
and if your not careful it'll get away from you
with a quickness
suddenly you find head in hand
as dawn is creepin in one door
while the last of the fun seekers is strolling out the other
the bill is comin due and your pockets empty
spent it on one last fling but sure it was grand
you did a soft shoe shuffle that they will never forget
funny how the top of the world looks so different when your fallin from it
never know where you day is gonna take you
but it will take you
things change enough and eventually so do you
the top of the world means something new
and from the top of your molehill it don't look too shabby
settle down with another lost soul
and share a love thats real
and as you settle down end of your day with
your girl in your arms you think to yourself
came a long way
to come back to where you started from
a jaybird makes you a nightwatchmen
and you can be the leading role in your own picture show
you can write the script of your own life
peculiar as it may be
long as your happy
long as your happy

Well, I wish there was a telephone in Heaven.
Oh, how I'd love to talk to my Dad.
I'd tell him that I miss him and I love him,
And I'm sorry for the times we never had.
And I wonder if they'd charge me by the minute,
I wonder if they'd charge me by the mile,
I'd call up that ole Angel operator,
Could I please talk to my Daddy for awhile?
Telephone in Heaven
Well, I wish there was a telephone in Heaven.
Oh, how I'd love to talk to my Grandma.
I tell her that I miss her Sunday cookin,
I haven't ate like that since you went to meet Grandpa.
Well, I wonder if they'd charge me by the minute,
I wonder if they'd charge me by the mile,
I'd call up that ole Angel operator,
Could I please talk to my Grandma for awhile?
Telephone in Heaven
Well, I wish there was a telephone in Heaven.
Oh, how I'd love to talk to the Lord of mine.
I'd tell him that I love him and I'm thankful
For watching over all these loves of mine,
And I know he wouldn't charge me by the minute,
I'm sure he wouldn't charge me by the mile,
I'd call up that ole Angel operater,
And say thank you for this big long distance smile,
Telephone in Heaven.
