#lanterns
Vicious red petals brushed in the late breeze, landing on flowing water, reflecting the mid autumn moon. Strings vibrating from every stroke of the pipa, following shifting wind whispers. Countless crowds pass by, leaving only the ones who follow the path of falling leaves.
The soft lantern illuminates the sighing sky, but captured by still and silent water. More footsteps arrive, more lights drowning in ignited waters. The wavy cascade of lights dance and flow, merging into goldfishes, springing to life. But melted by the returning rain, though lines blurred, freed from definition, yet unalive.
Left by the selfish rain are nothing but falling leaves and whaling dreams. Abandoned by trees, yet chosen by comforting waters. The pipa rested in the night, waiting yet washed away by time. Caged in a timeless dream, lit by lantern lights.

somehow you found me and it was like-
pomegranate suns i could swallow.
i haven't been loved like this in a long time.
i remember when she first smiled sweetly,
danced lightly, and kissed my sour lips
and she said she loved me, but i knew the truth-
she intended to use my body like how mom scoops
out red melon flesh from a rind, to pierce my heart
with black pins and eyes that never looked right.
she whispered secrets to me and found my own.
exploited my nature and soon i was hitting her across the cheek.
she said she liked it and maybe she did, but i was crying.
when i try to speak it all comes up in tangled string
and people don't believe me, even when they can see it.
how could god make me a vessel only to be dissected.
now you're here and i can't even touch you without
flinching, without feeling a phantom fire of the pains
past "lovers" ignited, without a spark, a match.
you have a dark past, twisted through violet fumes.
so do i, but only a reflection of the pages in your book.
i'm tired of living with trauma, when we haven't moved in together.

#*Lit lanterns
Lit up the lonely tree
The night knew its darkness
Was for all to see
For the lanterns, they knew
They lit what was to be seen
The tree
Forever, it knew*#

I.
The gleaming moon shined light
Emits bright luminesce, Paul holding his breath.
Floats over the hills
Valleys and streams, shadow of doubts.
Count it, another star rises!
And falls burning.
He wonders about the lantern of faith,
hides an omen of a stormy night
II.
Of those star turbulences of tragedy
Of these days passed with no respite
He lifted the lantern, his soul withstood.
He pondered on a one-way path
Confused but never scared, Listen-
the mountains echoed
III.
A lantern luminates its own soul
and
you are my light, Paul mumbles,
Absorbing all sparkles, Look
over folk lore, they glow.
Glittery magic, under a mellow hill
He lifted the lantern, a full moon
the faith and fairies bestow

The times have me gobsmacked,
petulant observer, no more endearing
than anonymous audience.
My own visions, shadows on cave
walls, storytelling secret
animal lanterns.

lanterns of gold
waking up late
breakfast for lunch
days with no date
long beginnings
with uncertain ends
sudden adventures
and making new friends
losing control
with thoughts unleashed
made up excuses
"i'm heading northeast"
writing in bed
and sleeping midway
waking up late
dates with no days
final goodbyes
we're back on track
farewell golden lanterns
for winter is back

I'm not sure when
I flew
At first
A simple night
Dark with
Starry skies
I rose up
From the hole in the earth
Birthed by the ground
A child of nature
Sent up into
Life

well then the light goes out
all lanterns fade out
and far and near
no more fireflies
oh that's all over here
end of sunset and sunrise
all cranes fly away
in all fogs and seas

all around green lights
plays the sea plays it
all around green lights
I'm standing at the pier
i'm standing at the door i'm standing
I stand and think again
what i am thinking and where
what i'm thinking about and
now and now and yesterday
all around green lights
all around green lights
all around them alone
oh around the green lights
endless endless
eternal and immortal
immortal and eternal lanterns
from whom not to go anywhere
never leave don't leave

I never really had a dream
I always had a goal
Until I met her, it seems
I had one hidden in my soul
I wanted a lavish life
To make up for what I lack
To live out as someone else
Indulge and never look back
Then I met her
Who dreams more than she knows
She is lively, innocent and bright
Inspiring wherever she goes
Her dream is so pure
Nothing to really be gained
She only wanted to see and know
Why those floating stars came
I realized dreams could change
I have found a new dream
To be with her amongst the lanterns
Every year so it seems

was among the lanterns again
flashlights again
among the stars again in the middle of the world
again among the planets again among
the sun again among the paints again
among the lamps all over again
again and again among the lanterns
I walked boldly along the streets
I walked along the streets and walked on and on
I went boldly and boldly to the streets
but why and where did I go but why
but why and among the lanterns I was and
among lanterns and among lanterns and among
only lanterns and starlight

Amongst
the roses,
I hear the
whisper
of unspoken
beauty, asking,
“can this be,
the one who
has lost,
found the
wonder of
everything?
how is it,
that when
it was filled
to the brim
with the tides
of love, it found
beauty in the
broken?”
I say to her,
“I have now
known how
the eyes filled
with tears
had seen
the heaviness
beheld in the
fragility of
their petals,
and yet still,
they float,
resting upon
the lips before
returning to
their dreams
In the clouds”
I watch as the
lantern returns
to the night skies,
there will come
a time, when
a rose will
fade as the
one you
hold dear,
and you will
remember,
when you
have truly
loved
someone,
their flowers
will never
fade from
the garden
of your
heart.

i like to look at things that shine
fireworks projected into the sky
and like a shooting star they fall
some wish
i watch
as it splits into an array of colours
a few seconds of beauty
quickly enveloped by the night sky
floating lanterns, so ominous
so pretty and mysterious
dots across the dark horizon
the endless darkness tainted
by blurs of light from a distace
but up close they truly are
an enchanting spectacle
camp fires are surreal
what stories do they hold
it rages and fights
it consumes, magnificent
so powerful and yet
so wise
candles bring out memories
if i stare too long
its rhythmic flame will devour me
the tiny light brings out the biggest shadows
like a trance it pulls me in
blow it out, then i'll be free
neon trapped within traffic lights
the red has immeasurable power
amber hues bring on despair
green commands attention
but in the dead of the night
when not a single soul roams by
driving past the glowing lines
of light upon light
i enter a realm of nostalgia
i see the flash of lightning
it is ferocious
commands respect
but when i watch it
from behind a window pane
with raindrops streaking down
the thunder muted, the dark clouds
they emit the most beautiful violet light
it comes and goes in simply seconds
and how could i forget the stars
always there
but only alive
in the depths of the night
scattered across the sky
they glow like an accessory
desired but unreachable
i stretch my hand out high
a little more and i can touch them.

The train
flew past us,
we were there,
waiting for our
time, until,
he walked
towards
where I
was to
be found,
he nestled
my body
In his
arms,
I looked up,
gazing
deeply,
I Iistened
as he
said,
you are
the one
who has
not yet
known
the truth,
I will tell
you, the
one who
has been in
tears, when
you are broken,
you will always
remember,
to love who
you are
and others,
the untold
story lies
beneath,
bring the
torn fabric
and sew
your heart
back together,
you will heal,
as I have always
done, you will
forget the dew
falling, and heal,
only then, will you
see how love is
unconditional,
when you see
with the heart
rather than
the eyes,
you will
see true
beauty,
let the
lost
clouds
come
together,
hold hands
and make
them feel
special,
warm them
with your
heart and
gently
place a
tissue on
their tears,
touch their
souls and
hold them
close, how
you want to
be loved is
how people
will love you,
you will look
at the night
with them
and say, we
are lanterns
of the sky,
filling the
oceans of
the universe
with the
galaxies
in our hearts,
we are more
luminous than
we think we are,
as the butterfly
unaware of the
delicacy of its
wings, resting
under the sun,
we are roses
opening
for the love
awaiting them,
yet, these hearts
are unaware
of how they
call for their
soulmates,
not knowing
their names,
rather, the
wind was
already within
the leaves,
creating the
music they
have known
before, the
tides becoming
one, as your
hand becomes
the pulse
of this heart
of mine, I
want you
to listen
when I say,
you are a
infinite light
shining
through
the cracks,
you are,
the one
and only,
stargirl.

I
respect
myself to
be able to
walk
To
live, you
must learn how
to FLY - First Love
You
I'm
all for
aiding the
self - love, respect
worth
No
longer
will I prove
myself to any
one
The
focus
is only
proving that I
can
I
hold dear
qualities
valued more than
money
Love
respect
self-esteem
belief, kindness
trust
I
respect
myself to
be able to
walk
I
spread my
wings to fly
alone and yet
free
Sweet
lantern
I ask you
to keep moving
up
So
put up
your proud flag
Let it proudly
wave

The
moon now
floods the snow
with a silvern

In
a robe
the shade of
night trimmed with star

She
sails on
death's white mist
bathed in eldritch

Runs
upon

of flame and ice
free
Sweet
musky

blooms from Milky

Let
sun-kissed
thin bamboo
paper lanterns
glide
Fly
high up
touch the sky
give light to my
words
There
always
are lessons
in our failures
grow
to
chase the
light in life
dare to run and
fly
Touch
heaven's
face with the
candle that burns
bright
Know
that the
lights will guide
you to the right
path
Close
your eyes
Let your heart
be the tender
light
Wear
your scars
with your pride
Each have special

Laugh

Let

we set off 4 lanterns for you
4 letters like your name,
We lit them together,
All feeling the same,
4 like your day of birth,
2 days after you left this earth.
We watched them float into the sky,
As we comforted eachother
and asked ourselves why.
The tears came streaming,
We shared a cry,
Witnessing them carried away so high,
Forming different patterns, divine.
A shooting star flew in front of our eyes,
A gift from you from the after life.
