Love is like a gorgeous rose
with time and care beauty grows
A beautiful aroma fills the air
from all the love and all the care
vibrant colors warm the eyes
rose flourishing, reach for the sky
There are times when the rose won't bloom
That doesn't mean I'm through with you
Although it appears a barren bush
This love just needs a little push
Though the thorns may cause a heart to bleed
Through the pain you soon will see
All these pains can be healed
Just as long as you don't yield
Learn from each moment
Forever enjoy it
The rose is just a metaphor of
An ever growing love

~~~~There is turmoil in the turning,
Breakage in the bend,
Talks of new beginnings,
Whispers of the end.
*Screams of silence so deafening,
Lips that move without a sound.
Never knowing what's happening,
Feeling lost, fighting to be found.*
Something on the surface,
That begs for something more.
The meaning in the purpose,
The dangle of the lure.
*The escaping thoughts of mind,
Lost to the strong willed
Caught up in the social grind,
The way of life was once killed.*
*Oh!, and ain't it a shame?
Staying still, while life races by
Losing this grandest of games
Barely floating, while everyone else can fly...*
That's where some will find themselves,
Arms down by their side.
Standing here if nowhere else,
This, their lot in life.
How much more must we repeat this,
The giving out and giving in.
The constant battle that rages on -
The struggle between women and men.
It's been here from the beginning.
It'll be here 'til the end.
Both sides in this bitter fight,
'Til it is that one side wins.
Taught that they are different
Since childhood's early hour.
When the boy is given a ball
And the girl is donned with a flower.
But the flowers, they have thorns.
And the ***** all bounce away.
With neither, they're long satisfied
With the gifts that were gave.
Instead, they channel their desires
To finding each other, and finding love.
'Til Death Do We Part,
Or until we've had enough.
The day I win the lottery
I’m going to buy this town
I’ll do all I can to build it up
Then I’ll tear it down
I’ll build a mall for shopping
Put my name on solid ground
I’ll do all I can to build it up
So folks can gather ’round
They’ll come from miles to see the place
A marvel newly found
I’ll make myself a legend here
Before I tear it down
I’ll pave the streets with promises
Hang banners all around
Cut ribbons, shake a thousand hands
Swear I won’t let them down
I’ll fund the schools, the parks, the plays
Let fireworks resound
They’ll toast my name in every bar
This miracle of town
Parades will roll on every street
The headlines sing my praise
A boom so big they’ll never see
The cracks beneath the glaze
They’ll raise my statue to the sky
Bind stories leather-bound
I’ll smile, sign one last paycheck
And quietly shut it down
Because it never was the town
Or glory, bricks, or crown
It was the joy of building dreams
Just to tear them down
The day I win the lottery
I’m going to buy this town
I’ll do all I can to build it up
Then I’ll tear it down
