We are the desperate, cornered beast We long for war As we long for death unto those who **** the innocent We long to see the life drain from their eyes As a bullet goes through their heart Watch them bleed unto the floor For we are Iron We are the desperate, cornered beast As flowers bloom A war is coming Not a war by the government Oh no, my dear summer child A war by the people against the government A war by the people against those who **** the innocent A bullet thereinto their heart A bullet thereinto their head as they die for their crimes We are desperate, cornered beasts who long to put a bullet thereinto the fascists' hearts

the show goes on
Words inaudible and sanity has gone Uncertainty in the air They long for their mom Frontlines being praised but dad hands been grazed Fighting every direction hoping for change Still, their perspectives tries to erase them adjacent to the void they hold ******* the life out of them Let their stories be told.

Black Hole
You say 'the worst of the worst' And we believed you We let you onto our streets. And you took. You stole children from their mothers' arms Husbands from their wives. Sisters from their brothers. Concealing your faces like cowards. You said 'the worst of the worst' So why are 73.6% of detainees innocent? 48 377 out of 65 735. Read those numbers again. You terrorise us, claiming to take the 'real' terrorists. You can't solve a problem by being the problem. You said 'the worst of the worst' Then why are they gone? Alex Pretti, Lucia Lopez Belloza, Genry Ruiz Gullien. Countless others. Who's calling the shots? Everyone knows. Maybe he gets some sick thrill from this. The bloodshed of his people.

**** ICE
my mother told me a story, of a man with a Mexican restaurant. bright and colorful, he brought light to the mall a permanent fixture that blended in, a happy and safe place for all. until they came knocking. the kind old man had a choice- give up his restaurant, or give up his people. cinnamon hung in the air we finally finished our Christmas shopping, and could finally escape the bustling mall but I stop once we reach the restaurant. it’s bright tiles faded, windows boarded. he chose the former.

July 4th, 2018 Where the land of the free has become obscured by the shadow of oppression, Its' silhouettes are the monsters children are afraid of under their beds. How, fireworks remind so many gunshots Self-proclaimed nationalists cannot stay loyal enough, to know what would be good for this land. This land of the free, no longer belongs to the home of the brave, but the cowardly. Family & children born unto what we deem unattached, from the roots of this soil, they are not welcomed for lady liberty's "borrowed" arms to embrace them. When each artifact was sculpted from an immigrant's hands, but we've warranted their tribulations are greater than stars on our flag. If those stars stand for detainment, tragedy, and fascism. I do not proudly pledge such ideals, embracing my heritage of greats- who journeyed over on ships across seas. They are the stars of America's history. —V.H.
