#dreamcatcher
As I stare upon the stars on my ceiling
My mind wanders the possibilities
I could be somewhere else right now
Filling me with an unknown feeling
I could be in a tragedy
Or I could be in a television film
I could've been lying in the grass
Free of any catastrophe
A dreamcatcher dangles infront of my window.
Tormenting me about the dreams I will never achieve
Yet it is said to bring luck to people around
The rumor the remnant of a shadow
I took it with a grain of salt
The rumours, the lies
Yet it brought me hope
To know that I still have time

“I dream; therefore, I am,” said the sage. \
Will my dreams come to fruition? \
I beseech Jah, The Transcendent One \
That I might attain the fulfillment of the promise. \
When Jah & Jesus sought \
To consecrate me \
I resisted them, \
I did not fathom myself worthy. \
I was enfettered by my Sea of Iniquities \
& unable to disentangle, liberate myself \
From the onerous & lethal wages \
Of Sin & Death. \
But now I have been emancipated, —experienced manumission \
By the Hand of The Deific Divine: \
My dreamcatcher, \
My salvific benison. \
To The Transcendent Dreamcatchers: \
Thank you for life, love, liberty, & your embrace. \
—You are Freedom, you are The Emblematization of Emancipation, you are The Insignia of Liberty; \
Therefore, you grant me the wings to soar. \
Please continue to be my aegis \
Your name being a bulwark against The Nightmarish Wraith of Tremulousness. \
Apropos of your Holy Spirit \
I wield a Bastion Heart. \

deep in a stargazing trance
i stumble through the night
in the darkest hour
a star-crossed lover's stupor
bewitched by constellation filled eyes
tangled in star studded netting
and silently screaming
- i am not a frightful nightmare
- nor a heavenly dream
- merely flesh, bones, lungs, heart...
the closing of night
still woven in intricate webbing
the rising sun's warmth
'tis but the scorch of fate's kiss
i shall smoulder and disappear
with perspiring flesh
shivering bones
panting lungs
pounding heart...
jolted awake
'twas but a dream?

Dreamcatcher, dreamcatcher
Why did I dream that I die tonight
I’m not sure I wanna fall asleep this time
Monster, monster
Under the bed is just a tale
Made out of fear and confusion
But when the night comes
Dark thoughts and spirits appear
Conquering my world around me
Creepin’ out on me
Out of the blue
Burnin’ the good inside of me
Leavin’ nothing but ashes
Who am I
What am I doing
Can’t find myself
Lost in the wood of my own despair
I’m just a soul, wandering around

When sweet morning dawns
giving dreamcatcher sight,
the bad dreams flee
unable to survive in light
Dream catchers are the magic trick to capturing your nightmares or so they say
Caught like flies in a spindly web, guiding you to the morning when you've lost your way
Hope it's gone for good
Not to return in the coming nights
Setting them free, never to return to that fight
They never say how to empty them or release the dreams, so I make a mosaic or poem out of it to set them free
Dream catchers attempt to make you feel better to sleep
Don’t hesitate to worry if you try and peek
No matter how long
No matter how short
Your beautiful nightmare
Will get trapped and restored
Waking up slightly confused
But yet wanting more
Let the cobwebs do its job
For when you fall asleep at night
Your dreams will be caught, and not lost

I'm a dreamcatcher,
You are a dream,
I saw you were falling
So I caught you.

Netted on the outside
Dreams pass through the inside.
The good dreams seep the center,
The bad dreams are caught: DO NOT ENTER!
The sleeper with eyes shut,
Protected by the dreamcatcher
And selected by the buy-snatcher,
Slumbers in peace
When all is at ease
Around the dreamcatcher police.
Reality is still
But the mind is awake
And sleep is at stake.
Eyes cannot detect
What the dreamcatcher does,
It only sways in the midst of a glance.
But the dreams that pass the glass dividing atmospheric gas
Cannot be seen, touched, heard.
Dreamcatchers have a radar
That no being does.
The dreams charge at once!
WOOOOSH.
Not a dream is heard
Caught in the dreamcatcher grid,
But the good ones
Keep clean the REM zones.
Native-American tradition
I will surely petition.

She would come
With the Whispers of the dark.
Would witness,
The flowers barking
And branches fighting
Would see,
The leaves of the maple
Laughing on my fears
Gossiping about my dream
They would steal hope
Every night from my soul
And I'd be left in the dark
But her hand
Full of warmth and love
Would caress my cheeks
And I , for she is too gentle
Would hold her tight
She then would make my
Nightmares turn into day dreams
She would turn black into rainbow
And make me taste ecstasy
For she is
My dream catcher

Throughout our lives we've been told by these old souls
that dreamcatchers are to protect against
terrors.
It's a shame we believe this lie that something so beautiful collects evil,
what a sad misunderstanding,
just human error.
How unfortunate that even though the name of the thing spells out its nature,
we throw logic aside until the truth is
severed.
We use the term 'dream catcher,'
yet try to deny it's offering to catch all of the good dreams
forever.
They exist for you & I, so let's recognize the blessing they were sent to be;
if we learn to trust, they will become supporters of our
divine identity -
That is,
dreamers.

As a child, I walked on the swollen grass
Surfing my hand through whispering flowers
I fixed my dream to catch the rising sun
Afloat like a kite behind the mountain
My feet glide fast on the broken path
I pulse and I pulse and the day is hot
Yet my eyes shine with sparkling dreams
To get to the sun; To know what it means
Alas there's a time, when my feet lose the dark
My dream now stares straight down at me atlast
But when the day confines & evening comes
Sun sits on flowers, myself on mountains
Oh sweet Dreamcatcher, you were honey-trapped
Is such the worldly nature of things? I ask
Once and once I wanted to touch the sun
She said the night shall pass & the day shall come

I was placed above you as a child
You used to giggle at my feathers and beads
You were safe when I watched you 31 years ago
I swayed softly above your crib
Protected you from the dark clouds that came at night
You slept peacefully as I guarded you
You hung me on the corner of your bed when you turned three
Your mother sang you softly to sleep beside me
The songs of her parents and her grandparents and those who came before
You hung me on your mirror when you were thirteen
Your new house was strange but I was your constant
You knew you were safe
At eighteen you placed me in a box
Took me with you across the country
You hung me on your bunk
Twenty-two and we move again
You place me on your mirror again
But now I protect you and another
Today you hang me on another crib
The little baby looks just like you
She sleeps peacefully just like you did, 31 years ago

Interconnected webs of string,
strategically woven and knotted,
and adorned with beautifully painted beads.
Some way, somehow,
this hand-crafted creation
is said to hold captive
all nightmares that had ever dawned on me.
What an immaculate thing
this could turn out to be,
if it were to play its part,
even when we are not asleep.
Because truth is,
the real demons that we have,
are not only those that appear in our nightmares,
but rather the ones we fight
day to day.

In the dark night I was prevented from my satisfying slumber,
as I was troubled by my rooms dark corner.
Though my eyes were soon to be sealed,
may my dreamcatcher cure me from this dreadful darkness to be revealed.
Thankfully, the dreamcatcher protected me through this night,
as I was navigated to an existence so bright.
I was floating above the sea as I saw the lights
of thousand beaconing lighthouses from these ongoing heights.
Keenly guided from all insecurities,
I now clearly see the seas of opportunities.

Like lucid dreams entrapped
within a circlet ornately adorned
A sweetest love conceived
but can't be borne
Trailing feathers
billowing light as rain
Starkness in ink
blot reckless in heavy stain
Strings strung taut
attempting to keep all in place
Dream catcher sways
by the window, free and chaste

Something for which I'm keen,

Some people are like
beautiful dreamcatchers,
absorbing the most terrible things
for those they love
and leaving them
only the softest, gentlest
thoughts behind.

He says words I've already heard before
Looking for that special someone I've never seen before
Nothing seems right
Am I clinging on to my dream to tight
Away with the wind I run
To find where my heart belongs I'm falling undone
I'll know when I get there
There's a place with open arms I'll belong
I'll stay for long
And laugh for hours
No more pain from this stain I'll have my super powers
I run so far I'm almost there
If I could just hurry up and unlock that door if I dare...
Then reality pulls me back
Was it the door or my eyes I cracked
My eyes gleam open and my body shovers
I saw an Angel floating just right above my covers

My mind is wandering
Going to places I've never been
Trying to acquire wisdom
But all I've got is boredom
Procrastination is my enemy
And laziness is envy
I am chasing a dream
Should I wake up now or stay asleep??

I cannot understand
Am I dreaming beneath the living?
Tell me if it’s just a part of my forty winks
Coz I’m rusted by chance when fully awake.
Why are dreams so large and
You forget it in a momentary climb?
The departed stories are so dear
That they never come to pass in life
The impossible happenings with strings
And things I’ll never find are so ideal.
The scars are reasoned and seasoned
But it was perfect when I was asleep.
I was dead to the world, totally ignored
Leaving one earth for a different one
Was so brilliant when I was buried.
But I realize I was not just dreaming
I was stitching them into reality,
Let me catch all my dreams
That they might never happen again!

Frown upon my withered heart!
and wipe away my tears.
Catch the nightmares, catch my dreams,
ensnare my childish fears.
Protect me, Catcher, put me down
and watch me sleep to-day.
the worries they encase me,
my dream’s the price I pay.
The morning comes unfiltered
the cycle is broken for now
Oh Catcher! my Catcher!
My faithful night snatcher!
Laid a kiss on my wavering brow.
