What if we met, to just glance and go
What if you saw me when your eyes were cloudy
What if we were not meant to be
Things would have been different
Your wings would have been brighter
Your soul would have matured to be more gentle
Your eyes would have been much happier
And your smiles more frequent
The aura would have been more striking
Your words more meaningful
Your thoughts pristine and clear
Your heart less wounded and aching
What if I waited a little longer or
What if I took a shorter path
What if I was at the wrong place
And we were not meant to be
