You dealt my heart like it was cards,
Shuffled trust with easy words.
One day warm, the next one cold,
A story half-truth, half-told.
I read the lines you wrote for me,
Thought they meant “you choose to see.”
But every verse had strings beneath,
A puppet show beneath your teeth.
Now I’m left with quiet rooms,
And echoes of a borrowed tune.
Not sure if I was loved or used,
Just sure I feel confused.
So I’ll take back what’s still mine—
The beat, the breath, the steady line.
