#comma
the actor says there is no comma the playwright states “it’s implied!” the actor says “no it’s not” the playwright rejoinders “then put the **** comma in!” the poet witnessed this in living color, tonight, at the Guggenheim Museum (NYC) ~ this interaction left me hard a thinking where is the obligation? must I walk the reader down the path provide a handrail for him to semi-self-guide with white painted pebbles two sided astride a path stating pause here for a , this-away this-away or am I to be mere assumed to be subsumed fully into their consciousness and ethereally understood accepting the cadence desired as an under stood by we two two parties, we united states, we, the investor and the invested alack these is no director to give guidance; the reader must intuit what is the it the it the writer desires, they/we/us/them must be as one the comma is needed not implied means though invisible the writer is invisible but the needed pause, is not he simply stays, think how to speak it, find the way that pleases your ears, manipulate mollify modulate your breathing intrigue your mind, find the ways to betterment share with another find the cadence to make the meaning to/of you-the-reader, you-the-envisioner the con+joined listener a sacred sacrifice of joining, a combining, a conjoining….of understanding <nml> 9:57pm Mon Feb 9 ‘26

Memento
Commas are what I fear the most, They change I love you To I hate this feeling.

Commas,
#**I dislike the comma Whips words while walking Placed between two words Whips the former and warns latter to behave and keep space The comma is a pain I love it When words walk without whips And breathe Free**#

Misplaced Comma
*** is a four lettered word flaunted by very bad vowels fevered to ecstacy by all tangled-up adjectives Then pounded into submission by perverted nouns that take their free liberty of the subjective Once surrounded by the iniquity of the parentheses you will only utter commas at the Benediction

***
You asked me my name in your first remark We sat on opposite ends of a question mark You were dashing - made me pause, me, this independent clause standing alone, I made sense on my own But I answered you anyway. Ellipses. Now you are the verb in my heart’s contraction I am the subject and you are the action An Interrogative with a Declarative reaction An Exclamatory and then an Imperative attraction Ellipses. Your lips ease Me, the direct object of your affection, but never sentenced to an apostrophe’s possession perhaps more true- a plural “s” suggestion and the excitement behind an exclamation point’s inflection The semi-colon understands We can be on our own, but we want to stand together where our letters aren’t fetters, but the typesetter’s better measure of linguistic pleasure. We communicate through metaphors and similes Like the birds and the bees We speak across homophone lines to keep a census of our senses at all times Because words said aloud have allowed us to find meaning behind the utterance of sound- mere words and phrases jumping off of pages into brain and heart and soul when the parts become a whole And with the syntax, punctuation, grammar, and usage I’m a hopeless semantic always trying to ****** it Language- yours I understand through the myriad. Words can’t capture you. Period.

Hopeless Semantic
In a comma state of mind I look but all I find Is the nothingness you left behind Nothing in my head No meaning in what you said Nothing in my heart You tore that all apart Nothing in my feelings You just left me reeling In a comma state of mind I look but all I find Is the nothingness you left behind

Comma State of Mind
Yes. I wedged a comma between us. But there was already an infinity stretching and you still haven't seen it.

This Poem Needs Comma (Three Line Poetry)
Sleep depravation leads to many fun things, Like commas, And sea dragons, And low self esteem, Being happy leads to several exciting things! Like exclamation marks! And dolphins! And a sexually transmitted disease! Anger leads to lots of frustrating things. Like periods. And humans. And bullets handed out for free. So with all these great feelings, creating such magic! How in the world could life be so tragic.
