Sometimes on days like these I watch rain wash my skin like whispers and it reminds me of you. I remember when you taught me that the drops splattering on your windshield like screams (making it impossible to see the impatient bloodlights in front of us) were beautiful. I couldn't hear you at first from the ear-beating whip of your wipers. Then with just one smooth, ink-like movement, you silenced them... and I sat in serenity, amazement, as your eyes lit the falling tears on the slowly diminishing glass-metal frame that swathed us. I forget when it disappeared... but before I had the chance to fashion your visage in my brain, I was sitting naked in the rain, letting you wash my skin while you murmured sunlight in my ear.

Age is Just a Number
We were travelin' down a Lost Highway Down some Dusty Back Wood Road Way Out in the Sticks East of Overshoe West of Bumfuc* Out in the middle of nowhere on a Crazy Hot Summer Afternoon We had the windows down Just Whistlin' Dixie feelin' and shooting the breezy air conditioning admirin' the lovely green quiltin' of the lush Green Mountains We had some smiles on our faces   listenin' to the tunes playin' on the radio It must have been our favorite song because we were really singin' Enjoying the thoughts that this music was bringin' As the world just passed on by I could see it in your eyes I'm sure you thought it in mine "And you're right my friend can I tell you more about it just up around this next Bend?" "Cause you got your life going on and I got mine but somehow today our lives are.... well... they seem intertwined And it's all good." Rocks and pebbles keep kicking up from those back tires of a Shiny Turquoise Blue Ford F150 Flareside Pickup Truck named Lucy and "I really love that sound ya know?" "Ya...I do." "This place this whole place it's like a endless and beautiful picture show and I don't want to go home just yet If you weren't here... I'd swear that I must dreamin' "..... "So let's pull over that looks like a good spot right here You could have another beer You know....take a Little Rest Stop "Turn the engine off just don't take out the key" "So what are you thinking there my Cherie? What's really on your mind?" "Well... I don't know just wondered if you can kiss me?" "Awwwww.....sure I'll kiss you sweetie" "You know I'm in this really strange place Something that time.... just can't seem to erase" "You don't need to explain and stop racking your brain girl ..It's all good." As he slowly slid his strong warm hand around the back of my neck And pulled me in close I got lost in the most Beautiful Moment.... Dreaming while I was Wide Awake. I used to run around with that kind I remember being attracted to them I never understood what it all meant I never took the time to think about it I just remember chasing after them I’ll never get over the small town girls They used to light up the night, so bright You could make magic in the moonlight They’d love you, they’d break your heart No matter what, they’re loyal from the start They would always have your back, in the end If you were betrayed, you always had a friend Small town girls, they’re girlfriends, best friends You grew up next door to them, such sweet gems Sharing secrets, riding all the back country roads Making out, as the 4th of July fireworks explode Friday night football games, they never get old Giving her your jacket, when she starts to get cold Still to this day, I’m 100% dedicated, that will never change Small town girls have my heart, I know it sounds strange But if you never lived in a small town all your life, my friend There’s nothing else like it in the world, I don’t mean to offend I’m sure the big city has some amazing girls, the suburbs, too But the small town girls, they’re worth it, and always pull through

Small Town Girls
I wanta go for a ride Come on climb inside I want to stop this slide Let our tears subside In each other we'll confide Then we'll put our problems aside We'll hit the back roads see the country side Find what treasures they hide We'll travel dirt roads untried Come to a cross roads we'll let the coin decide To no rules we'll abide We'll take it all in stride Let the fates be our guide Over *** holes we'll glide Just you and me, best friends, side by side
