#arrogance
His life right now: wreckage.
The once bright boy now choking in a gulf of disgrace.
Hope gutted in just a few seconds,
Falling prey to something he’s slain before. And before. And before.
In his skull, he’d conquered.
Among friends, he’d stand sovereign.
But then, as fast as it was raised,
His world came splintering down.
Back in square one, he rots,
The square he bled to transfigure,
Tried to transfigure into a vast, airless circle.
But now, all his efforts have gone up in ash.
"What will I do" he rasps,
Scavenging for counterfeit hope in the answers he gets,
Wishing he’d never worn so much arrogance,
So when he’d shatter it wouldn’t flay so much.
"At least it’s not the grave" he lies,
"Other chances will crawl in" he chokes out.
Maybe he’s right, maybe he’s not.
But who knows what the abyss holds.
He just has to sit and witness,
As his story keeps hemorrhaging.
Keep hope on life support,
To see what fate has rigged.
It may be salvation, it may be slaughter,
But you know what?
Who the hell cares?

There are sentences that are inaudible
And words that are passively silent
Oh! Words, verbs, innuendoes and pirouettes
We instantly ask incredulous questions.
Their gestures sometimes are understandable
Clever foxes hide behind vices
We comprehend very well why racists
Are intermittently invisible.
Oh! Silence that is when words do not exist
We see rats robbing the store at daylight and the cats
Patiently and intelligently examine the list
Of the remaining victims peacefully and wisely.
Words are often deadly dangerous
Daring the weapons of inequality around the hellish fire
Which is about to consume the desperate city
Where the words are silent and strangled.

Sometimes
When you are too arrogant
You become stupid
When you are too incompetent
You become stupid
When you are too grandiloquent
You become stupid
When you are too belligerent
You become stupid
When you are too racist
You become stupid
When you are too egotist
You become stupid
When you are too insensitive
You become stupid
When you are too divisive
You become stupid
When you are too aggressive
You become stupid
When you are too heteronormative
You become stupid
When you are too xenophobic
You become stupid
When you are too demagogic
You become too stupid
When you are too narcissistic
You become stupid
When you are too misogynistic
You become stupid
When you are too negative
You become stupid
When you are too abusive
You become stupid
When you are too dishonest
You become stupid
When you think you're the very best
You become stupid
When you're a pathological liar
You become stupid
When you are too ******
You become stupid
When you are too extreme
You become stupid
When you are too obscene
You become stupid
When you are too selfish
You become stupid
When you smell better than fish
You become stupid
Sometimes
When you put other people down
You become a clown
You become stupid
As an example, Cupid
Was wise, humble and nice
When you are stupid
You pay a heavy price
You go down as the worst
In history, not the very best
It pays to be fair, respectful and just
All the gold, the glitters and the lust
Are not eternal; they do not last
With time, they get lost in the past
Let the people do the cheering and the bragging
The world is not dumb, everybody is watching.

Arrogance and ignorance
Are two deadly ingredients,
Which are part of the menu
Of disaster; these are déjà-vu
Moments.
The aforementioned elements
Are destroying our society.
Intolerance is a whipped-cream,
Which is embedded in a toxic frosty steam
That multiplies the efficiency
And the potency of such an epidemic.

They gave us small thanks
for our pains, so now they'll get --
nothing anymore!
Europe, Asia:
too old, too crowded. It's time --
to take action now!
The bomb can do it:
create space and peace, and a --
little more respect.
Australia can
remain, for the kangaroos --
and our holidays.

Fiber optic cables pulse
with tidbits of psychosis,
petty neuroses transmitted
at the speed of Wi-Fi.
You upload garbage opinions
from the break room table,
confusing having an internet connection
with having a point.
You gluttonously gulp at each reply,
a fragile dopamine addict
constantly refreshing for strangers’ approval.
Like it's ******* oxygen.
You ragebait some other idiot
because silence leaves you alone
with yourself.
And you can’t stand that.
Mustard drips from
your sad, gas station sandwich,
staining the same apron
you're sure you're too smart to wear
You clock back in
still arguing,
still smug,
still small.

I have pasta trauma
That’s the joke I tell
But it isn’t funny
It’s shorthand for the sickness
That never leaves
It’s why hunger feels safer than indulgence
Why I can starve myself with ease
But stumble over a plate of something rich
I am fluent in the language of deprivation
Fullness has always felt like arrogance
Nobody talks about the way shame
Ferments in the stomach
How it sits heavier than food ever could
Shame teaches you to apologize for existing
Before you even open your mouth
Shame teaches you to rehearse obedience
Until it becomes instinct
Hunger became my first addiction
The only sensation I could control
I didn’t know then that choosing not to eat
Was the closest thing to rebellion I had

Once a pompous ant
called a meet with God.
*"There shall be death—
the minute we claw!"*
Oh, but God knew better
than to waste His time.
"Your wish shall be granted,"
and followed a cheeky smile.
The next day, the leader
marched tall with pride.
*"I am the King of Ants!
Learn… and those brave, may try."*
*"Gnar! First bite!
Such ease! Such grace!
Behold, the King of Ants—
no power can face!"*
*"Victory is ours!
It is our reign of dread!"*
cried the king with glee,
applauded by an army red.
Up above the clouds
mused a mastermind:
*"Three, two, one…
I bet it’s about time—"*
Squish! Squash!
Horror strikes!
The Emperor has fallen—
"Holy spikes!"
*"Pack your bags!
We’ve been fooled!
We wanted meat…
but we’ve turned food!"*
Burp! *"Huh!
I play by the rules.
They asked for death—
those haughty fools*!"

Walk of the wanton & the reckless,
Dark hallways down those overgrown aisles.
On either end of the political spectrum,
Where festers extremism.
Isles our youth sail to
Before dry the oceans.
Ideas which give way to ideologies
Which therein invite communities
People become entrenched and/or trapped in.
Ravines they claim valleys,
Molehills they pronounce mountains.
Conspiracy & alternate history,
Anti-democratic & superstitious beliefs.
Issues which have little to no attachment to reality,
Arguments repeated which perpetuate only apathy - discord.
Victims of a Maze of & of not
Of their own invention.
Minotaurs, as "monsters,"
Of & of not of their own creation.
These lost to the "Trails."
Fueled by ignorance,
But consumed by arrogance;
Burned in apathy -
Short-lived confusion.
Stay compassionate,
Remain patient.
Walking with Truth
Is to walk with Reason.
On these tenebrous paths,
The more the torches the more plentiful.
In that patience,
There is compassion.
In stands alone,
Where wisdom is the measure,
The odds are evened.
By only the grace that is the virtue of logic.
Be open:
Refrain from preconceptions,
Be willing to listen.
Let it not be a monologue, but a dialogue.
In that mused on symbolic
And in the literal.

Whether from arrogance or negligence, I yawn at their stance
Not a chance I’ll advance.
Science tends to disagree - research believes in therapy
As far as claiming it'd make me happy.
'Have a 30-minute walk each day',
She dares to say as I continue to pay.
'You carry trauma from your childhood'
'Navigate your thoughts and it’ll affect your mood'.
Sorry doctor, I’m lacking modesty -
I seem unable to take you seriously and seeing you hurts violently.
I could easily earn your degree.
Undoubtedly, people will say:
'How can she expect to be okay?'
'She's abusing of her sick leave pay'
'In no way committed to her healing journey'.
To which I’ll roll my eyes at any day.

“The one thing you shall not eat,
Can devour what you be.
The Red sweetness holds thee;
Core of poison, core of deceit.”
For many others without conscience tells,
They chant lies, they clang bells.
For power is not its conflict of corruption,
But a light to evil, a light of destruction.
Apple drops a head of thought.
Others, however, are long got.
For they have no will,
long gone they sought.
They boldly think, they blindly condemn,
Yet logic’s truth eludes each of them.
Because, presence wises the bird of them.
The worm that eats, the sweetness it brings.
The bird eats it so, masqueraded in wings.
For knowledge only gives moths light,
the tempt to corruption, arrogance flight.
And no told that numbers are right,
No knowledge of order, ultimate sight.
They chopped the apple tree, fuel it alight.
Now, they pay their price, their final blight.

Remember they're monsters
Not just in theory, but really
It's no longer about the evidence
(If it ever was...)
But a call to collusion
They want you silent
Unless you recite after them
So they can write papers
On pipe dreams

Is it as I get older that I become less sure,
more inclined to explore,
looking for words that better call
for open minds and open hands
– letting our stones fall
to give room for embrace.
Is it as I get older that I sadden
at the confidence (arrogance?) of those
who fashion words as weapons
who channel living streams into moats
with no thought to building boats
with all efforts on draw-bridge defenses
less our certainties be conquered
by those with much bigger shields
and sharper swords.
Is it as I get older that my bent prayers
creak louder and are prone to deeper pain
and I better appreciate why Jesus barely contained
his despair at ill-disciplined disciples
and the divergence of their words and actions
because I am Peter and John – I run
with more questions than answers
but with tears at how he manages
to love me after all.

Velvet violence,
Sanguine silence.
Dripping in animosity,
Perfumed and elegant.
Divulging in toxicity,
Searching for your sycophant.
Worshiped and adored,
Never doing wrong—
But oh, the suffering caused when you're bored,
Oh, son of the siren's song.

Once upon a time in a quiet corner of my mind
I deemed myself a poet.
What an arrogant ******* I am.
To think my less than subtle rhymes, written at best
in erratic time, qualify somehow as poetry.
Still I write this drivel from the heart
and I guess, Hell, maybe that's a start.
And maybe, It shouldn't be.
But maybe, just possibly
In the mind of this arrogant ******* poet
That's good enough for me.

With a broad chest
a ************ tongue
beautiful feathers, a hot breath
and a forked tongue
they live on our skin
We little ***** rats in the eyes
of the screaming crowd
that rattles the fences
in the zoo, the cages
in which we are trapped
The gorillas who clear the way
the hyena who says she is helping
the peacock who dresses our hair
the dragon for our image and
the hissing of the tour manager
Don't step on their tails
and don't feed them, please
Just let their airs
explode, no more ground
beneath their feet

There seems to be no escape.
The MAGA cult is all queued up.
Tickets in hand, gathering their baggage -
Prepared to board the leaky ship
For a one-way trip to the bottom of the sea.
Their bags are exceedingly heavy -
Filled with their leader's failures,
Formed of laundered cash, ****
Top Secret document theft, fraud,
Abandoned faithful allies
And defenders of Ukraine's freedom.
There are no first class seats on this ship
Because there are no first class passengers.
They long ago sold off all they should value
To stand by a creepy hotel clerk
Consumed by grift and self - idolatry.
Their hero arrives in a three-piece suit
To escort them to their cabins
As soon as he scrapes the mashed potatoes
From his corruption-soaked vest.
But wait - there seem to be empty seats
Many voyagers are turning away
Tearing their tickets as they go.
They tell how they’re finished
With lies and losing and treachery.
Too bad for them - for you see,
There's no place like the ocean floor
To gurgle on the wrong side of history.

(political)
Our leaders don't instill much confidence with their arrogance and incompetence
The blind leading the blind, leading Trump, leading Mike Pence
The importance of common sense diminishing due to a far sub par influence
Leaving said common sense to no longer be common place, commonly erased and/or misplaced, replaced and praised by the physical embodiment of ignorance
A fact, in essence, is knowledge not acceptance, they rather you had no remembrance of that conflicting evidence
With no thinking cap there's an absence of intelligence so you find yourself turning your nose up at the science
Thinking you can create your own semblance of order but it doesn't stick cause there's no substance
Empty ideas with no means to an end will never silence a crowd, just spreads around more violence
It's proven every election, they are tyrants saying what we want to hear then going back on all campaign statements
No more compliance, gotta stop thinking we the people can't make a difference
That thought was born from the opposite of arrogance in the sense that we don't know the extents of the power that comes with just our presence
It really, truly is a gift, now we just need to open our presents with a willingness and appropriate acceptance
Gotta quit with the indulgence of the hot air and flatulence that spew from these sycophants
Blind obedience is a dangerous way to advance and go about your existence
To much trust given in this instance, we bought it not 'cause it was a need but 'cause it was on clearance
Now we know the price was to steep but deceit is their quasi brilliance
Pure reliance on these p*ss ants we supposedly elected for guidance is a death sentence
They saw you coming from a distance and detoured your persistence
All the while preying on you from a white house window as you brave the elements
They even got you believin' your thoughts are your own but I can't stress this enough, that's nonsense
Regardless, it's no coincidence that we're falling right in line behind their wicked influence
Every four years we seem to pass on the renters insurance, so there's no assurance
No guarantee that when it comes crashing down like suicide insurgents
You won't be left to foot the bill of their gluttonous indulgence
Face it, you ate it up too, don't lie, can't claim your innocence when there's a witness and clear cut evidence
Evidence you bought into this with no regard for this nations residents
Coining the hashtag my life matters more then those low life pesints
In that regard see, poor is poor, color really, truly doesn't make a bit of difference
That's just used to keep us at each others throats so we don't form any kind of resistance
Saving face is a progress hindrance, we messed up royally when we voted outta spite and defiance
Even before it was official we knew it wasn't gonna be a good alliance
You could just tell by looking out into his audience and seeing who was in attendance
Every stance he took seemed like another foot in the grave but he buys his way out with daddy's allowance
Excuse me, I'm sorry, I mean inheritance, whatever, same difference
And this ADD society can't focus long enough to begin an impeachment prosses much less secure a prison sentence
And with the occurrence of each lie we lose more and more faith in the system put in place to uphold some semblance of balance
This breeds a nation of violence, looking for vengeance, no more tolerance
But we cant be the change we want to see while in a safe space, our soundtrack can't be the sound of silence
We don't want to be left with this blood money inheritance riddled with the guilty parties fingerprints
But at our core we're just looking to make more of a difference by being the difference
And yeah, they should be scared of what we're capable of, the gloves are off, we broke the trance, now let's dance...
