Apr 20 Apr 27, 2026Attention is where love actually lives. This week we practice looking longer — at the room, the stranger, the thing we keep walking past.
What does your attention tell you about what you actually want?

I fixate in things I can't have
Just so I can imagine what it's like.
I give attention to love
That doesn't even exist
But I wish to be mine.

my attention gives me away
it lingers
on the clock
more than the customers
drifts to the door
every time it opens
like maybe it’s my way out
i memorize the beeps
the same small talk
the hum of lights overhead
but my mind
is always somewhere else
counting minutes
not moments
so maybe it’s not the job
i’m holding onto—
just the leaving
i keep thinking about

Gaze lands upon the unwritten book.
Or to the old, redding strings.
Sometimes of shutters kicking dust,
Or of an apparition of comfort.
A shadow, like once yours.
Though fleeting, as always.

I listen to my children attentively, when they speak, because when they feel heard, i feel fulfilled
When it comes to music,
I tend to dance off beat,
because my attention is focused on my next step
Each to their own, unique the rhythm
Happiness is my need, and the only want.

I want to walk in the woods alone
And then share what I have felt and seen
With those I love most deeply

My mind always seems to find
a simple way to pass time
a quiet breeze, her hand in mine
all i want is to be fine

a life outside—
in nature.
caressed by the transient arms of the ocean.
supported by the grass, the soil, the bedrock below me
my back against the Earth, my face tilted toward the sky
i want to be always surrounded by mother Gaia,
to be always in awe of all that she is.

Attention is like a pinball,
Firing across the machine,
From one destination to the next,
Smashing into blockades,
Until it disappears into the abyss then
PING!
It's back again, like a smack in the face
Except a few months have gone by
You can't remember why you had started
In the first instance,
Or how long you've ago you left it
On a shelf with all the others
They're eager to fire out
But quick to burn.

most of my days are spent
crouched in corners,
consumed by a quiet malaise,
and pent-up anger.
i peer through opaque matter,
searching for a feeling
strong enough to outlive my sonder,
aching for a reality not borrowed, not lived through others.
and over time,
as shadows take their shape,
not from grime
but from something deeper
reflections begin to form,
mimics of a self
i recognize,
living away from the land that carries my name.

Inner peace. Most important.
To see goodness in others by trying to be good and kind to others.. I’m interested in human behaviors and what drives them to certain actions. Why there is so much hate when love is so much easier.

I look away and I hate
I seek forward and I need
but as soon as my heart thumps
the beating rhythm
I feel my Resolve
weaken in my knees

Someone whispered a surest way,
How to count the grey in my hair:
Every promise I managed to stay
Added one more silver there.
Count again? Just a fool's errand.
Scattered thoughts, lost in the din.
When did the last of the red run out?
Could I keep the next one in?

Noise.
Chatter, loud voices.
Deafening music
Chaotic singing and shouting.
But somehow
over all of this
I notice you enter the room
I hear your footsteps
and your heavy breath.
How do you do it?
How do you silence all this noise?
How do you silence all this pain?

My attention is always on my students and on my job
Because they are actually what I want
They are the reason why I am called a teacher for a reason.
Other people may doubt but not my students.

My attention...
Depends.
Is school going well?
Great!
Let's get started!
Everything is awesome!
... And when things aren't going to well?
Sleep in!
You could be doing something else!
Everything is anxiety!
So...
Is that what I want?
Things to go the way they should?
No.
I want Good Days.
Days that make me smile the whole way through.
Days that feel productive...
Even if I did the same thing yesterday.
And after some thought...
I think i'd like it if...
Well, if my Attention didn't...
Depend.

My attention drifts to fading skies,
Where day departs and silence lies,
To unknown lanes where shadows start,
And questions echo through the heart.
It rests in somebody’s falling tears,
In hidden wounds, in nameless fears,
For there I find what matters most—
The love we need, the loss we host.
And when I die, let this remain:
A warmth inside my loved ones’ pain,
A gentle pulse they still can hear—
That I was love, and I am near.

I don't know what I want
I don't know
I don't know
I think I do, one day
The next, I'm confused again
And again, and again
But the mind is a mystery I can't let go of
One I want to solve
So I plan to, one day
One day, soon.

My attenion's on my full-on circus act,
where love and studies are synced in spin,
juggling flashcard futures, like a signature move.
But what do I actually want?
I want something made of solid choice, not blind DNA scripting.
Is it validation, by slow corrasion? Or perhaps I just love the high-wire's buzz.
I'll be standing on the wire, as we all do , unless something smacks me sideways.

Burning envy once occupied my mind,
her sweet reflection captured in these eyes.
Her perfected waist, her porcelain face.
Yet I never stopped to look within.
What I envied was my own jealousy.
I wanted the way I looked at her,
to be the way they looked at me.
