The Thaw
Apr 13 Apr 20, 2026A spring orbit. Something is loosening. This week we turn toward what is coming back, and what we are finally ready to let come back.
What did this last winter make of you?

Pasty legged sight,
Burrowed in the night.
A layered form of me.
And seriously lacking
In Vitamin D.

It took what I found in the spring
I had found strength and love
But winter's start stole it all

whispering a hollowed gray
I bartered the morning for the rust of time
a map without borders, the silence
there goes that pulse again
there is a ghost wearing this skin
their cruelty harvested me
without mercy, only dread

winter made me nothing i was not already
winter reddened my cheeks
cracked my lips
numbed my fingers
froze the puddles
and made the cherry blossoms all the sweeter
when they finally arrived

Winters cool breath fell upon me.
Feeling like I could breathe within its cold slap upon my face.
I enjoyed the cool breath of winters moon. The brightest of the moon shining in the night. I felt more alive in the cool night.

I am calm and torn
I am quiet, forlorn
Heart's lonely
Mind full of folly
I am calm and torn.

Last winter made me a liar,
Because its just so easy now,
Smooth as a river.
Last winter made me drink,
Only a bit, only at parties,
I crave that feeling now.
Last winter made me cry,
because nothing ever works out,
and my friends are far away.
Last winter made me a poet,
And now every night I read.
Dancing across a million tiny stars,
In the galaxy of your lives.

Just like how cold you are
I was frozen in place
The big ben hit 7 o'clock
And the sun soon shines
Melting away the ice
But still leaving me cold.

A cold,breezy night
the fireplace's embrace
But warmth wasn't the only flame...
A fire to thrive burned within
Turning the winter's cold silence,
into a season of passion and goals

Same cool breeze, same snowless nights, same feelings... I force myself to enjoy the cold, just to feel my fingers numb- My veins constricting, my hands bloodless... Because I deserve it, don't I?

Last winter left without hushed goodbye ,
Left me with frozen heart and scratches of bitter lie.
Taught me how cold numbs ,
Snowflakes wanna stay like ring ,hold on my thumb.
Winter promised to never leave ,
Yet, left me with pages of pain
Frozen tears now waits for untimely rain.
