I try to fit inside my skin
as best as humanly possible
I try to adapt and blend in to
an environment that is inhospitable
I won’t think the same thoughts as you
so I lock myself out as different
I’ll always strive for what is true
and make that my own commitment
I can’t change the essence of what I am
That will not change one small iota
I won’t lie down like a slaughtered lamb
