The once solid black paved roads turn into unsteady gravel as they grow closer towards the edge of the world they created together. They don’t have much time and they know it. They lay under a sky as black as the ink she uses to write about him and raging winds that yell louder then his drunken dad did. Breathing her perfume in like the toxins of a cigarette she takes him higher than he ever thought possible. Their kiss was powerful, maybe because it was their last. It wasn’t a goodbye kiss though, more of an “I’m sorry we didn’t make it” So fear chokes them and holds them back. It's the same fear that leaves him sitting there for what seems like forever as he watches her slowly walk away cause he knows she can't fathom how much he loves her. She cries while walking away, not out of sadness but because of almost being in love and the fear of not almost being loved back. He doesn't care if she doesn’t loves him, he loves her and that’s all that matters. But it’s too late, she’s gone. So he keeps breathing in the deadly toxins that still lingers in the air while she holds onto a heart full of regret.
