I don't really care You've done so much to upset me It doesn't bother me anymore I may get mad But it's all a front It's the genuine promises you break That put me in a stump It's not just a metaphor baby You may find it true Look at me I'm stumped on you I'm sitting by the stump of a tree Waiting to climb But the encouragement you give Makes it hard to find The branch that I need Isn't strong enough I try to trust But look what happens I end up on the ground Right where I started It's these promises you make That are the promises you break

These Promises
I don't really care You've done so much to upset me It doesn't bother me anymore I may get mad But it's all a front It's the genuine promises you break That put me in a stump It's not just a metaphor baby You may find it true Look at me I'm stumped on you I'm sitting by the stump of a tree Waiting to climb But the encouragement you give Makes it hard to find The branch that I need Isn't strong enough I try to trust But look what happens I end up on the ground Right where I started It's these promises you make That are the promises you break
I guess I'll just stop climbing.
