You don't know what it's like to feel helpless in the dark 'Cause you've always got a golden light shining through your heart So can I keep you close at night Can you hold me when the lightning strikes I feel alive when that light is shining on me You're so pure that you've got rose petals flying through your veins If I wasn't the one giving them air it would be a shame So can I keep you close at night Can you hold me when the lightning strikes I feel alive when that light is shining on me You could be my knight in shining armor What loves us makes us stronger When you kissed my life It went from dark to bright And if you were my fishbowl I'd be one happy soul Time flies like a bird So I made my word Into a song, just for you To show that This emotion This loving devotion Is still so very true
