Little did you know When you left me A long time ago You gave me liberty. The best gift you could give Although I still did grieve The years gone by clung to me Strangling me , refusing to set me free. Soon a firm resolve Made me stride with purpose From my stupor I evolved The turning point , beckoned me I soared higher and higher Oxygen pumped faith hope and serenity I remembered you with gratitude for letting me be.
