If you love something set it free Be selfless and let it go If it comes back it's meant to be If it comes back you'll know If it stays gone it's happy If it never returns it's free Be glad for it That it can find where it belongs But what about what's left behind? The soul of the one who lost What is to become of them? Losing what they love most It's not a relief The pain won't vanish You've condemned yourself to a cage Stuck behind bars that may never break So if you love something set it free But be wary of what you love Because you may soon come to see What you lost will never come back

Cage
If you love something set it free Be selfless and let it go If it comes back it's meant to be If it comes back you'll know If it stays gone it's happy If it never returns it's free Be glad for it That it can find where it belongs But what about what's left behind? The soul of the one who lost What is to become of them? Losing what they love most It's not a relief The pain won't vanish You've condemned yourself to a cage Stuck behind bars that may never break So if you love something set it free But be wary of what you love Because you may soon come to see What you lost will never come back
For the one I let myself finally love, I hope you come back. I know you'll never read this though
