With this safety pin Through my swollen tongue I scream I love you In blood splattered words Landing at your feet Clutching your ankles Begging for your love Begging for your skin Coagulating Then there’s me: squirming In spasmodic fits Empty embraces Embracing nothing Licking your footsteps As you walk away As you run away Leaving streaks of red Red passionate “I love you to death”s In pieces of tongue Tongue and safety pin
