We took the river boat all the way
up the Rio *****
to find the monkey rehab,
some said it was a loonie bin
for problem simians.
And you,
rebellious you,
always breaking protocol,
carried your wares
with you instead.
Did you not realize
the howlers
break the rules too?
Good God, it was the craziest scene.
Two wild ravenous fanged-monkeys ripping
threw your stuff like a whirlwind
spun out of control.
But I bet,
you didn't want that Nikon anyways?!
I wished I'd taken a picture.
