Maybe if I crack open my rib cage I could tape my heart back together myself. I've never seen love; I haven't heard love. Maybe I haven't even felt love. One step forward but two steps back. I was halfway to believing, now, I'll never look back. Maybe if I rip open my chest I could see if I even have a heart to fix. I forgot. I gave it to you with apprehension; I gave it to you with my hands. But I must have fallen all alone because, dear, what you gave back to me was only a stone

No, Love
Maybe if I crack open my rib cage I could tape my heart back together myself. I've never seen love; I haven't heard love. Maybe I haven't even felt love. One step forward but two steps back. I was halfway to believing, now, I'll never look back. Maybe if I rip open my chest I could see if I even have a heart to fix. I forgot. I gave it to you with apprehension; I gave it to you with my hands. But I must have fallen all alone because, dear, what you gave back to me was only a stone
