You forget the feel of their skin The smell of their clothes The warmth of their breath You look at a picture and there is no recognition You dig in your mind To find them But they’re not there You try to find a memory But it’s faded out of view Life has taken your feelings Your thoughts Your memories It has a way Of allowing you to forget So you have room To heal

I havent forgotten yet
You forget the feel of their skin The smell of their clothes The warmth of their breath You look at a picture and there is no recognition You dig in your mind To find them But they’re not there You try to find a memory But it’s faded out of view Life has taken your feelings Your thoughts Your memories It has a way Of allowing you to forget So you have room To heal
