And let me add this as a beautiful 'finishing touch' on this absurd hashtag controversy.
Everyone must know I had this beyond the pale hater, let's call him 'O', who wrote and reposted hate haikus about me by name (and also of Nat Lipstadt and Billy Dixon). With the repost the count stood at 3000 hate poems! I restrained myself and did not lower my dignity by attacking back. I was civil and wrote Eliot a dozen letters of appeal with NO RESULT. 
I had an epiphany. I fucked 'O' so bad he caved in within the hour and raised the truce flag. I fought fire with fire having him have to swallow his own bitter poison pills he wrote. I just mirrored his site with a fake one  - NOT CHANGING A WORD ~ used his avatar and just 'tweaked' his hashtags to anti-Semetic slurs. Lowly, humble, misundersttod and unappreciated HASHTAGS.
It was an ingenious assault worth of Sun Tzu's Art of War on steroids. He removed EVERY hate haiku he'd ever written.
'O' now writes poetry about the grace of forgiveness. I kid you not. I lifted the self-consuming  burden of hate off his shoulders and freed him to write from the heart. I brought 'O' redemption by my humble hashtags.
If there is ever a story of poetic justice worth retelling - THIS IS IT.

I'm just back on hp after being gone for a few years, Joel...and I wrote a poem yesterday called #wtf mainly just to tease gonzo a bit about #boobies as well as to express my complete confusion. I don't know what the hashtag controversy had been on here but I know that I am completely befuddled by it all and will never be cool enough to understand the purpose. Anyway I also just wanted to say hi and I hope you have been well. :-)

when were hashtags invented? before or after trending? (my mom just taught me what they were)... can we copywrighte them? wait.. didn't the lawnmower man use those to take over the world or something? heh.. or maybe the mainstream's finally learned to democratize advertising? i'm so bare noob, i still write poetry with a yard tool in my hands

yeesh, i took a backpacking trip for a few seasons and civilization found another cliff to jump off. thankfully.. i like cliff-diving! helloooo pooeeeetryy! and luckily, your considered words are here to catch me, contrast the vast inauthentic artifice that shows us what we want to be (oerrr don't want to be) :)  what's the difference between hashtags and homefryes?mmmmhmm

very happy to be reading you again; authentic authenticity; i congratulate you on your publication; i'm honored to read your poetic goals and to find i share so much with you. more than that, the form through which you take on the world persists... amid measure, rhyme; stalwart beliefs and body resonating joy.. you once said i deserved a broader readership... still makes my day when i think of that; yet this also holds: the solitude of a rare height is worth more than a gossiper's applause; despite the truism of readers making the world a better place. i feel lucky to know you (a master reader and writer)--i feel *un*deserving of your generous words (definitely the same species as that too-good-to-be-true Whitmanian thrill).  in a world as this, even a copywronged hashpoem that appears on every google search--even past the gReat wAll--wouldn't measure up to the importance of the dialogue between a few creative individuals... exempli gratia, a poet moved in upstairs recently, like a gift unbidden, and gave me his book of poems entitled, "Growing Love".. i don't always see it right away sometimes -- the value unknown until time threatens my access or nexifies my eye.. it's like that with you, Mr. Frye. thank you for keeping your poetry here; for expressing the patience of wordcraft again and again -- even if you did end up removing a bunch of your poetry i'd try hard to understand. thing is, you don't just 'like' -- you love. and i don't just 'like' your work.  you know better how hard it is to come by. thanks for being there in trenches still, pointing out the sun
