I have no lingering attachments To my broken wings Or my shattered heart For it, I carry no such things From scratch of feather and bone I’m building my wings anew Of self worth and sunlight And no memories of you I'm forging a new heart Of crystal tears and starlight Shining, so it cannot be hidden Even by the darkest night And when the time is right I’ll finally be free So not even barbed-wire and lace And hold me to thee.

Broken Wings and Shattered Heart
I have no lingering attachments To my broken wings Or my shattered heart For it, I carry no such things From scratch of feather and bone I’m building my wings anew Of self worth and sunlight And no memories of you I'm forging a new heart Of crystal tears and starlight Shining, so it cannot be hidden Even by the darkest night And when the time is right I’ll finally be free So not even barbed-wire and lace And hold me to thee.
