The words fell off of my lips, Like a **** had been broken in my mind, Every single thought, Being transferred onto paper. Struggling to keep up, With all the words I never said, The crumpled up ***** of paper, Lying motionless next to my bed. All empty thought, And things that didn’t come out right, Never going to sleep, Staying up in lamp light. It felt like I was drowning, Begging for sleep to finally pull me under, To put my thoughts to rest, And make me stop having all the “what-if’s” scraping around in my skull. So many things were left unsaid, Since the day we met. But now I’m writing everything down, In one massive wave, And I can only hope and pray, That you feel the same. ~E.M.
