The moon rises through a blue violet sky Glowing white above yellow orange trees As the sun's light wanes The blue gives way to a sparkling black The moon grows brighter, floating Through the diamond starlight Casting a glow upon the shadows Cast by the fire colored trees Split only by the shining rails Laid upon the ground As the moon reaches its pinnacle Its glow is joined By the piercing light and sound Of the train Heralding the night's end The moon falls slowly to its fate Fading behind a blue violet sky Behind yellow orange trees Now alight by the sun's fierce glow © November 3, 2008 Deanna Repose
