dark shadows across my eyes falling
a world-tinting gloom
joys of life seem to be dying
all that remains is darkness and doom
will sapped strength gone
hope has fled to farthest places
looking around seeing no one
i weep alone is my mind’s darkest spaces
fled from me has the light
all around is shadow
sinking into that dreaded night
there is nowhere i can go
is there anything i can find
to stay that black dog raging in my mind
