Chewing this artificially flavored candy I ponder the best way to phrase this As my tongue explores the roof of my mouth Parched and bitter with resentment Dissecting emotions pulling them apart Meanwhile I hope will sweeten the words I’m about to exhale Words that come with a bite and a sting That aren’t afraid of dissent Creating an unpleasant air That even Lysol can’t mask With its chemicals And its poison Filling up Until both of us choke On tainted love
