Understood
the struggle away from my own home.
Unexpected vanishing trick
they played.
Stay strong and carry on for a number of days.
Celebratory occasions
came and gone.
Still no sign of that soul
I was hanging on.
I had a gift for her. Thoughtful and true.
But left alone was I by the one
I did not pursue.
I did this thinking
it would be the best for her and I.
Maybe it was.
Still I wonder
Is she here? Or in the sky..
