She said she loved getting lost in the music What no one realized was that she released the music from inside And that it wasn't really music It was her life But to her it sounded like music Though every drop of music that poured from her body Took away parts of her life She felt more and more alive Because there is no fear that way No pain that way Everything is nothing And nothing still amounts to nothing But then he said, 'Existence has serious side effects.' She didn't know what he meant He didn't know what he meant Then her music stopped And she knew what he meant Because she was the whispers that float in with the tides And the stars that glow like a candle, though they have been long since blown out And she was the thought that consumed everything in his mind And she was also the white door with the brass handle.
