A wishing well!
What a wonderful thing,
any dream you can tell
hoping one day it will come true.
You tossed in that penny,
hoping your dream will come true
any.
But apparently, something they didn't tell
for how long it takes the penny
to reach the bottom of the well
we have already grown old
and forgotten.
That penny finally hits the water
but it doesn't matter;
we don't dream anymore.
So a wasted penny
actually has a wish of its own.
It wishes its life wasn't wasted
being tossed down a wishing well.
