i keep making banana bread
because i am faced with
free bananas at work
so i bring one home
and enter a cycle
of forgetting it in my bag
remember, then forget it again
until they feel neglected
there's three of them by now
i would never waste food
but there's no patience or faith
that i can make something better
so i make banana bread
and get hit with questions like
is this real
or is this cake?
i sprinkle it with chocolate
and send it on it's way
this is not about
