Awakening

This made me WEEP because since 23 April 2022 I&#39;ve flat-lined three times. And honestly, and to my shame? I sort of wish they &#39;d not been able to zap me back!! It&#39;s not... it&#39;s very hard when the vast majority of people you love have walked on, and the world is left a grey and painful place, you know?

I&#39;ve told you, I started here in autumn of 2009, one of the first original 100 users at HP, and I&#39;ve cancelled accounts and left, but never for more than a year or two.

I&#39;ve seen GREAT friends come and go, and as is the nature of online things, usually go with no notice, leaving but giant questions marks.

Well, a few years ago I started a new account, no re-postings I made a pact with myself, and I was AWFULLY rusty in writing, and NO ONE read my poems, or if they did, no comments, no &lt;3&#39;s, and I USED to have 3.0k readers on EVERY silly thing I wrote!!

I felt like, hmmm, I really SUCK at writing, I ALWAYS have, this had just been a popularity contest!!

But THEN, a fellow traveler started LOVING, REPOSTING, and COMMENTING on most every little scribble I wrote... AHHH, Sweet Redemption!!!

And I started reading her religiously, and her brevity semi-hid the deepest truths of humanity that she shared, stuff like, well, sometimes the bars that I should have seen before, and sometimes the open field that were ALWAYS there, and all point between, yes??

SO, I loved this poem (of course!), but it also inspired me to write a little ditty about my FAVOURITE poet at HelloPoetry, you, and if you deem it good enough to repost on your own page, that would be swell, and I just write that in case you think that would be egotistical of you!!!

But if it isn&#39;t good enough, that&#39;s TOTES cool, too!!

I believe that is true, praying for someone who had as stroke, and I&#39;m not sure the quality of life will follow :(&nbsp;&nbsp;

Commuting the sentence,
perhaps means grace intervened… 
not to imprison,
but to teach to live again.

Sometimes,
we are brought back to life
 to discover
it was never a sentence… 
it was a second chance
