Merriam-Webster Dictionary Word of the Day 21/05/2026 I walked the old towpath last evening, listening for the heron’s cry. The water held its breath. Something in me answered. And then — A space where a thought should have settled, a hollow the shape of what I once believed. I keep walking. The gap walks with me.
