Winter nights are colder You, alone, have to rush As the flying beasts approach, As the water turns to glass, As the neverending street Seems to grow even longer, It's a shame that your siblings were all born stronger. It's a cold winter night for the runt. City walls are taller You ,alone, have been trapped And your whole body freezes As the world gets dark. As the flying beasts surround you, As the silence grows, In the corner that's found you You unclench your jaws Just before you attack You stand straight and say "I refuse to feed my enemy today." While your siblings grow older You, alone, had no luck. As the days get warmer, As the swallows come back, And although the water's ***** And the food tastes bitter That night you played your role in the litter The winter was too cold for the runt.
