He put little bits of candyfloss on my tongue. They dissolved in my mouth. It was distracting, but the whole experience was weirdly delicious. Remembering him always begins with the taste and scent of spun sugar on skin, in shadows made darker still by the stilted, fluorescent halo of nearby rides.
