We’re all selfish, yet we deny it,
the essence of our core,
a primal need for significance.
So ashamed of our true nature,
we draw blinding curtains over ourselves.
One runs their whole life, fighting their own beliefs,
escaping from what’s already been written.
The sun, the moon, the earth, and the stars,
the majority of elements continue their dance.
The universe itself is messy, yet so profound in its beauty.
Why is it that we humans run away from our own path?
Why would an atom be punished for what it is?
Why would we ever try to impose any rules on it?
Ignorance of one’s true feelings is louder than ever,
pent-up rage waiting for a crack,
slowly emerging as time passes by.
What if we simply accept what we are,
embrace our own contradictory nature?
What’s more beautiful than watching the sky
do what it has always done?
