Tell me what you’re thinking, love The thought that flits in your head like a dove You squint at me trying to remember Sometimes I’m Matt or husband or dad, never a stranger Your pretty face shows me you’re struggling Hesitating and stammering Worried you won't say what you want Relax dear and hold my hand, words are not Important Watching your face, the spark in your eyes, the gentle line of your lips is all that’s necessary More is revealed to me in silence than said with any verbose vocabulary Noise is anxiety Here quiet with you is serenity The body is weak, the mind vulnerable But our souls are both ethereal and tangible Enriched with love They rise over human strife to soar above

Speaking in Silence
