*** In the quiet halls, echoes the name, dear Fagan, lost in twilight's haze, Once a feline knight, now a memory, in the heart's secret maze. Playful fights, your eyes gleaming with mischief and delight, Those moments are now tales of yore, fading in the night's gaze. Your purrs, a melody, a lullaby softly to sleep I’d fall, Now silence reigns, in the absence of your soothing phase. Your shadow danced with mine, in the golden afternoon light, Now it's just my lonely silhouette, lost in a daze. Your whiskers, a compass, guiding you through life's maze, Now they guide my tears, tracing paths on my face. In dreams, I see you, Fagan, in fields of eternal chase, Chasing butterflies, in heaven's vast, endless space. Though you're gone, dear friend, your spirit never decays, In my heart, you live on, Fagan, in love's eternal embrace.

Whiskers in Twilight My Feline Friend
A quiet tribute to my cat, Fagan, who left this world far too young after a sudden heart tumour. These lines honour his mischief, his gentleness, and the small, sacred moments we shared. Though his time was brief, his presence shaped my days, and this ghazal carries the love and ache he left behind.
